I love this movie
I remember seeing this movie with my parents when I was probably like 8-10, granted that's not a suitable age to be watching it. I have never stopped loving this movie and I'm 25 now

Not what I expected...
Going in it felt very John Wick-y in nature. And while it was, it was still entertaining to watch. The cast sold it for me. While the script could have been better, and if it wasn't for the acting of the cast, I am not sure I could have gotten through it. And lets face it, Morgan Freeman. Thats all I got.

A Great Action Movie
This wonderful gem--based on a comic book of the same name--features Wesley Gibson, a mild-mannered accountant working at a big firm, who is stifled in every area of his life. Work, girlfriend, money--everything frustrates him...but he can't seem to muster up the courage to speak up for himself. Plus, he has to fight constant migraines, which he takes medication for and assumes are due to his frustrating life. But he's about to find out that there's a lot more to him than he ever could have imagined.Featuring James McAvoy (who, prior to this was mostly known for playing Paul Bettany's brother in Wimbledon and Mr. Tumnus in the first Chronicles of Narnia), who is still far away from being Professor X at this point, this movie also has Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie in key roles (and even features a young Chris Pratt, as Wesley's office mate and cheating lover of Wesley's girlfriend).Wesley is approached out of the blue by Fox (Jolie), who tells him that his headaches aren't migraines--that in fact, they're due to his heart beating more than 200 times per minute because he's the son of a specialized assassin. Wesley thinks she's nuts...until he gets caught in the middle of an insane firefight between Fox and a mysterious man who seems to be hunting him. Wesley is eventually introduced to The Fraternity, a league of assassins that Fox is a member of, and which is led by a man named Sloan (Freeman). He finds out that these unique people have all sorts of crazy skills that no one else has, and that using a Loom Of Fate, which produces cloth that somehow determines who Fate wants to be eliminated, they have been the agents who eliminate problems for 1,000 years.Wesley is told that the mysterious man Fox had the gun battle with is a rogue member of this Fraternity who killed his father and is trying to eliminate the other members, and that Wesley is the only one who can follow in his father's footsteps and track him down. But first, he has to learn from the other Fraternity members how to do close-quarter combat, knife fighting, reduce his reactions to pain, shoot, and most incredibly of all, bend bullets in flight with his mind.Through it all, Wesley starts to become a stronger person, more willing to speak up on his own behalf, and become a cool, confident man like his father was. He is eventually sent on kill missions, where the amazing talents of himself and Fox are put on wonderful display. Eventually, he is faced with Cross (Thomas Kretschmann), the rogue assassin...and a hugs twist in the narrative that will leave him reeling and wondering just who is who.Featuring a lot of Matrix-style action and gun play, this movie will keep you thoroughly entertained throughout.

Wanted (Blu-ray + DVD + DIGITAL with UltraViolet)

one of the best action film of the last decade
Many action movies, comic books and geek-appeal TV shows are fantasies of empowerment. Protagonists from Luke Skywalker through Peter Parker and Harry Potter are mistaken for dullards by everyone in their lives. They are whisked out of their ruts by magical mentors, who induct them into secret universes where they inherit a legacy of heroism (along with an arch-enemy or two), can take their pick of the cool toys (mostly fast vehicles and big weapons) and get to marry (or at least cop-off with) the princess or prince of their choice. Wanted fits that template treading a tricky path between `with great power comes great responsibility' and `absolute power corrupts absolutely'.Here, a whiny loser gets access to sports cars, guns that shoot round corners and a tattooed Angelina Jolie, and takes his place in a battle between good and evil without necessarily caring about the body count. Our hero, Wesley (James McAvoy), endures arduous training which brings out his latent near-superhuman abilities, and executes his first missions. The director, Timur Bekmambetov, obviously has a lot of fun with a sizable budget, we get fights, chases, crashes, murders and assaults involving flipped-over sports cars, speeding trains, skyscrapers, and a castle. Bekmambetov understands pacing and escalation, scenes build in intensity, and each sequence is filled with inventive gags or gimmicks, like the broken letters that spell out a to the point resignation message when Wesley breaks his keyboard on the face of the best friend who is sleeping with his girlfriend. A great thing about Wanted is it doesn't seem interested in trying to appeal to the masses by getting a 12A certificate, so it can deliver the gruesome payoffs to its fights.McAvoy, boyish charming and occasionally scary, carries off a tricky role, growing the hero's character to match his bullet-curving and knife-fighting skills, and proves he can hold his own on the big screen. A slender Angelina Jolie is insidiously attractive as the world's greatest (and, apparently, most limber) hit lady: I have never seen her more charismatic on screen - or bent into such odd positions. In a time where even the good action films have been predictable, Wanted offers more than enough twists, turns and surprises to fool viewers who think they know what's going to happen. Wanted is fun, funny and packed with more action than you can shake an AK-47 at. Recommended.
