Decent guide for would-be purchasers of oriental rugs
If you're planning to buy an oriental carpet, and there was never a better time to acquire one of these wonderful hand-made pieces which are not only decoration but working tools which'll last a lifetime or more, then Walker's book is a decent start. It perhaps doesn't give the detail one might hope for but its written by someone who spent a lifetime in the oriental rug/carpet trade and is basically handing you his hard-earned wisdom on a plate. In the face of almost no other good contemporary book on the subject (that I have found!) this is well worth a read.

Clear concise book on Oriental rugs. Color plates good but not excellent. Follows a fixed format on the different rug types. Kind of a classic comic book approach to this subject for those of you who remember what classic comic books were or are.
