Great all around game
This game is so CUTE! And if you're a man, it's so FUN too. The art is so cool. Origami type art on each card. Scenes and quality is great. The actual game is fairly straightforward but I did have to read the instructions through twice to make sure I understood. My 8 year old can play it without a problem. Super nice box and small enough to stow in the car, purse, diaper bag, etc to take anywhere and play on the go! Keeps kids entertained at restaurants and outings - even my younger ones because they love looking at the cards

Fun game, cool artwork, card quality could be better
Love this game. The box is small and portable to go anywhere. The origami artwork is unique and cute. It didn't take too long to learn, and the deck includes quick reference cards that are helpful in remembering what bonus each type of pair gives you. It's a game I would classify as pretty quick to learn, takes a little longer to master. I'm still getting my head around different strategies, like when to hold cards and try to build up a higher score, and when to end the round as soon as possible, when to best play pairs for bonuses, etc. That keeps it interesting to me. Strategy affects the game, but so does the cards you get, so there's a nice balance and variation in play and who wins. An aspect I found neat is that the cards include symbols for the colors - great for those with color vision impairment or even playing in low light to distinguish between similar colors. (I was tickled just to learn about that symbol system and piece together how it worked, which I didn't know before getting this game.) My one gripe about this game is the quality of the cards. They are thin and cheap-feeling, and even feel like they aren't consistent thickness (it could just be that with the low quality, if some happen to have gotten more play that the wear or thickening edges is more noticeable.) I especially notice it after playing something like Shifting Stones, which every time I play I marvel at the well-made components, how good and durable the cards feel in my hands and look like new even after many plays. Pandasaurus has some interesting and unique games, many are small and portable, I'm a fan of them overall. The Mind by them is also in a small box, and the cards are good quality. So perhaps Sea Salt and Paper was an earlier one in their catalog and they are improving as they go. I would love to see them come out with an updated edition with better card stock. It's a great game at a pretty low price point (low enough I still feel like it was worth what I paid for it) and it would be worth upping the price a couple bucks and improving the quality of the cards.

Great gameplay. Beautiful Art. Easy to play and travel size.
Gameplay is great. Art is beautiful. Plays quickly. You might need a couple games to understand the rules, but it's a game easy to play. Pros: Travel size: You can take it anywhere, even with card sleeves. Fun: Any player can win at anytime, even a comeback win isn't rare. Art: Card images are origami pictures, just do yourself a favor and get it. Cons: Complexity: It's more difficult than Uno. If this is an issue, then you might need to reconsider. Also, it's just a filler game. It's not a con per se, but you might need other games for game night.

Cute art, plays well, simple to teach/learn
I like sea salt and paper. It is a simple game in a small box that can play several people. It has some interesting challenges with the mermaids. Plays quickly and I like the the art of the "pictures" or origami. The cards are high quality. The one downside is the game + expansion do not all fit in the original box- ugh. But great game, easy to teach. Some strategy with what to keep, what to play, and what to discard. I would recommend this game. It is not in my top 10, may not hit the table all the time, but I do recommend it.

Super fun card game with an ocean origami theme that is easy to teach and good on the go.
Sea salt and paper is a favorite game for my husband and me. It is easy to take with you and so much fun is packed in a small package. We took it to Hawaii and camping and up to our wine and cheese on the hill watching the sunset nights. We also play it at home quite a bit. There is just enough strategy and just enough luck needed to make the game challenging yet fun. We love the card designs, as well. The ocean origami pictures are wonderful. We usually play board games, but this card game is a favorite. This game is very easy to teach, as well, so you can play it with family or friends. We have the Sea Salt and Paper: Extra Salt expansion and are looking forward to the Sea Salt and Paper: Extra Pepper expansion!

I've really enjoyed this deceptively simple strategy game with tonnes of replayability! Perhaps my only gripe is the design of the box - it's so small and compactly designed that the air is forced out when you close the lid, creating an almost vacuum-like suction which makes it hard to reopen. Be warned!
