3 of these have worked flawlessly for many years in my house
I've been using one of these since 2013, another almost that long, and then a 3rd since 2016. They've all performed flawlessly with frequent use. I just ordered a few more for my new house. It seems other brands tend to have quality control problems, or I've just been very lucky with these. They seem to be well-made. Recommendation: Order 30-minute versions for small toilet areas, or 60-minute versions for large bathrooms or shower areas. One thing to consider, the 60-minute version will be quicker and easier to set for 30 minutes rather than the 30-minute version which you will need to wind all the way around. So in other words I am assuming a small toilet area will only need 15 minutes, so it will always be a "halfway" rotation regardless of where these are installed.

Lights and Fans Being Left On? Time for a Switch!
For whatever reason, my family loves leaving fans on like it's an Olympic sport. These fantastic little switches help keep a lid on that.I've had these installed in every bathroom in the house, and I've found that the 15 minute countdown interval of this switch is ample time to eliminate moisture from showering, or any unwanted odors from, uh, other stuff. These switches look good, and are (for the most part) pretty quiet. They do make a small, rapid, clicking noise as they count down, and again for a few seconds after they click off, but that's a minor note—just disclosing in case anyone here is extremely sensitive to small, audible irritants. While bathroom fans draw very little power, I like that we use them now only as needed, prolonging their life. As other reviews mention, these switches will wear out over time, but in my experience—we're talking years and years and years, so for the price, I can live with that. Oddly, I did have one instance where the plastic knob on one of my switches fractured, and that caused the switch to countdown far slower than normal. In that case, I placed a call to Intermatic at (815) 675-7000 and ordered a handful of replacement knobs. The replacement parts (which ran just under eight dollars for four, shipped) arrived quickly and after slapping the new one on, the switch was good as new.Feel free to leave me a comment or question, I’m happy to add anything else you’d like to know about the product. Thanks for taking the time to read my review, hopefully this information was useful!

Works like a charm! I should have installed it years ago.
I installed this timer on my bathroom exhaust fan. We tend to turn off the exhaust fan after a hot shower too soon. The moisture hasn't actually been removed from the room yet. This timer allows me to walk away from the bathroom and not have to worry about coming back in 20 minutes to turn the fan off manually. I have noticed a dryer room and less moisture on the walls when the fan runs for 40 minutes and then turns off automatically. I would recommend this to anyone who has moisture problems in a bathroom.

These timers last a long time but not forever.
I've used several brands of timers over the years. Some are good while others don't last that long. These timers usually outlast other brands. I've only had to replace one of these so far. There are cheaper brands on the market but they won't last as long as this brand. Some brands have large twist knobs which interfere with decorative style switch plates which aren't flat. I've never encountered this issue with this brand. The only thing which needs to be improved upon are the markings which fade over time. The common failure issue which all of these timers (independent of the brand) have is when the return spring starts to fail, the knob gets caught around the last few minutes, and won't shut off. I've never seen one which was an open circuit (completely blown out).

You just can't beat good quality products!
I purchased a couple of the Spring-Wound In-Wall Countdown Timer Switch's from Home Depot and within a few months they stopped working completely. Having used the Intermatic brand Spring-Wound In-Wall Countdown Timer Switch in the past, I recalled that they never failed after several years of use. I was not able to find the Intermatic brand locally, so I ordered two of these from Amazon. They arrived in a couple of days and after a quick swap out with the broken switch's, I was back in business. Great quality product from Intermatic. You may pay a couple of dollars more, but they are worth it. Thanks

It works
No more going behind my children to turn the fan off after showers!!! The screws that came with it were poor quality so I replaced with my own screws. I would purchase again regardless since it does its job. Installed this along with a motion sensor light so now I don't have to turn off fan and light that for some reason no one ever left on (apparently there was a ghost living here that has since relocated after they were installed. There is no connection for ground on this but ground wire is not necessary in most installations for this anyway.

Intermatic works perfect just llike expected from past reputation
So: This replaced a fancy motion sensor controller that not only did not work, but fried the fan motor. Better to use a simple on-off style like Intermatic - which is also simple for even a five year old to turn on. And - avoid running a bath fan all day.

Don't waste time/money on other brands
I tried 60-min timers from Woods (they get stuck) and Century (they work, but are really LOUD), before springing for the extra two or three dollars for the Intermatic, and I'm completely happy. (I'm only unhappy that I wasted time and energy on inferior brands.) These from Intermatic work exactly as they're supposed to, they're quiet, and the install is cleaner than others: Instead of using wire nuts on wires embedded in the switch, these have little slots with screws for your stripped load and line wires. Highly recommended.

Well made with minor issue
Easy to connect. I am using it as a timer for my gas fireplace replacing a standard wall switch. Be aware that you may need to enlarge any faceplate that goes around it, as the ones I had did not fit, and I had to dremel one. Otherwise works great.

Basic timer that works
Our bathroom timer finally gave out after eight years of use, after checking the big box stores all I could find were the digital timers. After doing some reviews on these digital timer they seem to have a short lifespan. Found the lntermatic spring wound timer here on amazon and it’s the exact same replacement for the one I have. I give this timer five stars for ease of installation and use. Time will tell if it last as long as my old one.

This was supposed to be an exact same manufacturer replacement ...
This was supposed to be an exact same manufacturer replacement switch since Home Depot no longer stocked it. Almost identical except they did not drill out the inside centre holes as in last version, so wires could not be loaded from right side of the receptacle to hit posts on the left side. So I had to adjust and shorten previous connection to the left side. manufacturing quality control eh?

No way to wire it up
There was no way to attach wires. No place to put the hold down screws. I seriously think it was assembled missing some parts. Can't return it though because I modified it trying to make it work. Garbage...
