It helps with poison ivy. Not perfect, but helps.

Have used this product for many years. It is wonderful for mosquito bites, poison ivy & itchy stuff. Really hard to find here in our area, so I was delighted to find it on Amazon. Great price, great product!

I am allergic to mosquito bites, such that getting one or two is very irritating, 3 or 4 makes me itchy and my eyes water, and more than that can start a severe allergic reaction. The bites also take over a week to heal.If I apply Calagel within about 40 minutes of getting a bite, the pain from the bite subsides within an hour or so, the bite heals within a few days, and the allergic reaction is so significantly reduced as to be almost unnoticeable.I have tried antihistamine creams, and they are helpful, but I have never encountered any other product that comes close to the effectiveness of Calagel. I always offer it to friends when they get bug bites, and the effectiveness varies: I believe it has to do with how much a person's reaction to a bite is allergic vs. a reaction to a toxin.I have never had a reaction to poison ivy. Whether that is because I have been adequately careful (seems unlikely) or, I am simply not allergic to it, I don't know. In either case, I can't personally attest to Calagel's performance in that regard, but I would be surprised if it didn't shine there, as well.I highly recommend Calagel; I would suggest that everyone should buy it at least once to experiment on any topical allergies. Just don't apply it to broken skin, because it can cause a stinging sensation. My only complaint is that is always comes with a bottle of Tecnu, the product that removes poison ivy oils from skin and clothes. As I mentioned, I don't have a need for this, so I have a closet full of unused Tecnu bottles.

As a seasoned veteran of poison ivy rashes (hospitalized with it as a child), I have a most impressive cabinet bursting full of anti-itch remedies. Every year I try a couple of new ones in hopes that something will come along and soothe my itchy misery.I wasn't expecting much from Calagel when I first applied it to 2-day old outbreak, because it didn't seem to have much immediate effect. But after several minutes the gel dried (went on sticky), and I realized that the itching was gone. Really!? Is this possible? Maybe it was a fluke. But, no, over the course of the next several days, I applied it to the several areas that had broken out (2-3 times a day) and not only did the itchiness almost completely disappear, but I noticed that the healing process was moving along at a much faster clip than usual. Naturally, I always wash the area with warm soapy water first.Oftentimes my poison ivy quickly graduates to weeping blisters, causing not only major issues with itching and treatment, but putting me at risk of infection as well. With the Calagel treated rashes, they never made it to the blister stage, instead steadily drying up until the rash disappeared.Since then, we've tried it on mosquito bites, and anything else horrible and rashy that turns up. It's something I will always keep on hand. Really impressed with this stuff.

I got this after I was doing some yard work around my Mom and Dad house. They live out in the country on a farm and my husband and I were clearing the weed away from their fence. I got into some poison ivy and broke out. The first few days I thought that bugs had been bitting me. Then when we did go back over to my parents home my Dad told me that I had poison ivy on me. I tried a few things trying to stop the intching and the rash but each day I would wake up with a couple more spots on my arms. So I went to Amazon and starting looking up medicated that get rid of the poision ivy and I bought the TECNU CalaGel I put it on the first night and sleep throught the night without waking up and inching. So each morning and at night I put it on and it is clearning up and know more inch. A great product, so tonight I ordered another and had it send to my parents house just in case I get into the Poison ivy. I would recommend this item. Great stuff.

It was a gift for my mother. She is pleased with the product and says it works good.

I have gotten phytophotodermatitis from removing a storm damaged fig tree. Limbs. I had blisters all over both my arms, legs and back of neck. I tried different lotions and cortizone before I found different Tecnu products. However, I couldn't find this at the local pharmacy. By the time I ordered this and have it delivered, it's more than 10 days have past. I still used it because it's still very itchy. I think it helps but not like magic. I also stung by yellow jackets for at least two spots on my legs. I applied this right away. The pain went away in a day. I will keep it close by and keep using it.
