So much new growth just after a few weeks of using this light!

I bought 2 of soltech to mod an ikea greenhouse. Let's just get the major cons out of the way:1. The touch controls are finicky. I still don't have it down right and its a bit annoying given the premium product that it is.2. Premium yes. Pricey yes. Can you get something that does the job for way less? Absolutely.So who is this product for? Its for those who really care about aesthetics of their green house especially if its taking any sizeable portion of a common area or room. Otherwise, there are way cheaper alternatives that have more reliable means of controlling the product.

Magnetic mounts work great, bright light for plants. Good light

Ordered the grove light and noticed the touch mechanic wasn’t working. Sent it back and ordered a replacement, only for the replacement to have the same problem which just functionally makes this product a really expensive bar light you can’t dim or turn off.

Alright so the long story short is you are paying a premium for the form and elegance of this light not for the output or performance. This is a very good looking light with nice touch activation features and comes packaged incredibly nicely with every bit of special care one would expect from a luxury item. In the performance realm it does what it's intended to do, light a single small shelf area with full spectrum grow lighting. Great for a show off herbal garden or the like but if your looking for an indoor gardening solution you are better served with higher output solutions especially at this price point. If you are looking for the elegance and luxury look of a light then it's a very excellent choice.PPFD values were too low to merit mentioning at any non direct distance and it's output spectrum is just fine. It'll do for a small single shelf herb garden or a single plant display but beyond that it's more form than function. All told I must say I absolutely enjoyed the packaging and the luxury feel of setting it up!

I thought the light could be attached to my metal shelf via magnets but no, only the brackets attach magnetically to each end of the light bulb. It allows the light to be rotated, and that does work well. The other end of the bracket attaches to your shelving via sticky or screw. I needed to use the screw-in method.To use the screw-in method: If you open up the paper with the mounting screw placement, in Step 1 it says to separate the base from the magnet end by sliding it off. Well, I couldn’t get it to budge for the longest time. I gave up but later came back and was able to slide them both off but it’s hard to grab a hold of. It should be easier at this price point.Issue #2: The light is supposed to turn on/off and dim with touch. It did not work for me although at one point it turned off and I couldn’t get it back on. I had to unplug it. The video says it may take 10 seconds, that’s a long time to be blinded by the light. I did contact support so will see what they say.Edited to add: (Support contacted me right away and this is what he said to do and it helped: The best method is to "pinch" the light with your thumb, index and middle fingers. You want to pinch it twice, the first pinch should be normal/fast, then pinch again but this time hold that pinch and in a few seconds you will see it slowly dim down. Just repeat to brighten it. if you pinch twice without the hold, the light will turn on/off. ) But in my mind, it's too fussy and I don't like dealing with that. I want an easy way to turn it on and off.I like that the light doesn’t hang down and leaves plenty of headroom for my plants. It’s small at 17 inches in width which even includes the mounting ends. The diameter is about the size of a quarter.It does come with a timer which I had no need for so can’t speak on how well that worked.But overall the light is frustrating to use.

Pretty cool with a lot of features. I like the magnetic mount but too bad that you have to still attach the mount itself by other means so not full magnetic. Lots of features but a little cumbersome to use. Also do not like how this light is well over 100usd. Way too expensive in my opinion for a small light such as this. Neat light that works but I cannot justify the price.
