I must say that I am very impress with this device. I recently scanned a 946 page book in 52 minutes. This was at a normal pace and performing some realignment as needed ( I will explain shortly). To add context, I had previously scanned the same book and it took me a couple hours a day for 2 days and I did not get near the quality I received here. After having this scanner, there are a couple things this scanner has that I would recommend for anyone purchasing a scanner to consider. 1.) There are indicators to let you know when the scan has completed. This scanner has red lines that flash across the page. 2.) There are thumb paddles to hold the page down. This scanner comes with a set that are yellow and have checker boards on them that don't show up in your images. I use them to hold down the page but use my pointer finger instead of my thumbs. 3.) A foot pedal, This feature allowed me to snap the image and turn pages without moving the book or taking my hands from it. This is a great time saver. 4.) It was really simple to put together. Please note that the lower lights are attached via magnets and will not handle any load There are a few items that are disappointing but they are not an issue, for me. A) The software is not that intuitive. However, you can figure it out and once you have done that it is OK. However, it does a good job flatting the pages and giving you an indicator on the screen to see center-line drift. Note: I recommend you watch your center-line on the monitor every 4-5 scans when you are at the begin and end of the book. It is at these points that the center-line will drift. This is because of the physical turning of the pages and not the software or scanner itself. B) The scanner lights are not real bright, I had hope to also use it as a desk lamp. however, they are acquitted for reading, just not bright. In short, I am very happy with the purchase. Bill

Great for scanning books. Easy to use and fast! So much faster than a regular scanner scanning page then turning the page and scanning again. I'm in college and I can scan textbooks in record time to use the PDFs in a text-to-speech app. Highly recommend this book scanner.

I was skeptical when I purchased this scanner, especially for the price. An important feature for me was to be able to use the wifi to scan directly to my iPad. Straight out of the box I downloaded the app, plugged it in and no issues at all scanning directly to my iPad! So next I hooked it up to my Mac. I was thinking it would be clunky using my computer but I was totally wrong. No issues at all connecting to my computer. I used the foot controller while scanning the pages and it scans faster than I can turn the pages! The flattening feature works super nice too! They have the special yellow thumb holders that work great if you need to hold the pages down. The software cleans the image perfectly! But what I found is most the time you don’t have to hold the pages down unless they are going to flip back. For the flattening feature truly flattens the page for you! You literally can scan as quickly as you can turn the pages! The software is super nice too...little things such as inserting a page in the midst of a scan is super easy and intuitive! I did a scan of several pages and when I went to convert it to a PDF I noticed I accidentally skipped 2 pages. Normally I would have to rescan the entire scan. But with a click of a button I was able to insert the pages where they belonged! I can’t comment on customer support, which for me is as important as the quality of the product, for I haven’t had to contact them! I’ve had scanners and printers in the past but none of them was as slick as this!

The main issue I think is its software. It takes pretty good single page ,jpg's and converts to .pdf's pretty well. However, when trying to take a picture in book format, two pages open at once and separated by the dividing line on the screen, the image of one page is larger and the second pages is partially cut off very often. I contacted tech support twice and even sent examples of the pages askew and cut off with no help from them. So now I just cover one page of my book with a black cover page and take single images instead of book format. It takes twice as long but it is the only work-around that I found that works. I haven't heard much better from other machines but for $400+ it should take book images as indicated in the advertisement and tech support isn't any help. I haven't seen any other machines that have highly rated reviews. Hope this helps.

This is the greatest scanner which splits the two pages of a book to two instantly flattening brilliantly. Flattening, splitting done by it is most brilliant in the world. But the final quality of the scan is nit good. The pdf texts appear pixelated and bleeding which makes the final outcome a very disheartening one. The developers are requested to improve upon that. If that is done, no other scanners would ever be able to equal it. I appreciate the company for its brilliant concept and brilliant flattening and splitting but express my sympathy for their failure to provide the customer a good quality pdf. It must be remembered that scanners are mostly bought for scanning books and documents to PDFs. One would hardly prefer an overhead scanner for scanning photos.

The speed is quite slow and the software interface is also not very good. CZUR ET 18 PRO is much better in both regards

not worth of its price al all, same quality as cheapest 30$ scanners, only plus is a3 format
