Sturdy and Sensibly Priced
I was on the hunt for something to burn a decade's worth of paperwork too plentiful for dispatching via the humble domestic shredder when I came across Miss Elliot's contribution above (I'm assuming no man worthy of the name would call himself 'posyflump' even in this day and age) and ordered immediately. That was Sunday. It arrived within 48 hours. I haven't yet put it to use (we're snowbound just now) but the item is certainly well constructed and looks to be exactly what I need. The incinerator stands at 33-inches (approx. 840mm) with the legs and cover fitted. The flooring of this unit is not detachable, unlike the other, more expensive model Amazon sells. The same is true of the 'chimney', which is part of the moulding of the lid and again is not detachable (in case anyone was wondering). The components by themselves measure 22-inches (approx. 560mm) in height for the container body, 3-inches (approx. 76mm) for the visible part of the legs and 8-inches (approx. 203 mm) for the height of the cover. The diameter of the incinerator is 18-inches (approx. 460mm).As well as holes in the side there are a further eight slots in the bottom to aid ventilation. A nut and bolt (supplied) arrangement fixes each leg to an opening near to the floor of the incinerator. It's an easy enough job to slip the legs into place and even tighten the nut by hand if you haven't a spanner, but reaching that far in might be a struggle if you're small and a little overweight or perhaps burdened with short arms. (I'm 5'7". It was no trouble really but I did have to adjust my position two or three times before I could reach the nut.)Finally I should just mention that 'BretShaw' is the shortened form of Brettell and Shaw, a local Black Country company more than a century old, so you'll be supporting English business if you buy this (and even if the firm describing itself as 'british' only provides further evidence to suggest the gene for self-preservation has been all-but bred out of our people). I'm confident at any rate of getting years of reliable use out of my new incinerator. I recommend it as a good buy at a comparatively reasonable price.

Why didn't I think of this before?
Brilliant, arrived today at 08.30 via Parcel Force faster than expected and well packaged (especially as cardboard recycling is tomorrow!). For around £20 this is a bargain and appears good quality however, I only have a smallish garden and it seems perfect for my requirements of nettles, brambles, lilac tree and other clippings, don't know how it would cope with a larger amount though. Legs attached with no probs but I only did the washers up finger tight as metal expands when heated and you could overdo it which may cause splits in the metal. Well packaged with no dents, and am now advising my neighbours to get their washing in PDQ as am raring to go!My local council stated that, what I couldn't get in the Brown recycle bin, I could put in black sacks and they would charge me £5 per sack to collect, 4 sacks = £20 and I have at least 10 sacks worth, I can go on forever with this bin, and the ashes can be spread on the garden. In addition, you can also burn your personal papers, which stops your shredder getting bunged up! No idea how long it will last, but providing you don't try to use it 24/7 with massive amounts, I am sure it will last a good couple of years. Very happy bunnie xx

Good bin for burning leaves
Used this to burn leaves during autumn and it works really well. Make sure the leaves are reasonably dry first. It took a few attempts to work out the best way to start a decent fire but what worked for me was using old newspaper lining the bottom and sides of the bin then adding a few dry twigs and leaves first. Then add another newspaper page on top and light it. After a minute or two you will have a nice fire going. Add more leaves slowly and you will be up and running. Managed to burn lots of leaves and also some old paperwork too. Didn't use the chimney lid as it works better without it and you can carry on adding leaves. It does get discoloured after first use but was expecting that. Overall for about 20 quid delivered its a good product that will last a long time.

Bin it and compost it!!
Arrived in a good sturdy box, just had to put the legs on, very easy!I'm using mine as a compost bin but previously I have had one as an incenerateor, it works well whatever.Very well made and can't wait to get it in position and start using it.Thoroughly recommend!

Top product for the money
The incinerator arrived promptly, delivered by Yodel. I did notice that the lid was slightly bent/dented, which prevented it from sitting straight. A couple knocks from a rubber mallet and it was fine. Perhaps the dent was caused during transit.Once the shrink wrapping was removed I noticed there was a slight 'greasyness' to the incinerator, not that this was a problem nor did it effect the use of the bin. Attaching the feet was straightforward enough.Overall I feel that this is a good product especially for the price. It's saved me a trip to town and cavorting around with a 90 litre bin on a bus! (I don't drive). If you're after a new incinerator then you can't go wrong with this model.
