Top notch product, made by Frieling.
I have owned several of Frielings' products for many years, and have never had an issue. I own several types of cookware. I use this frypan nearly every day, making eggs, Monte Cristo's and/or our supper. I have heavy weight stainless cookware, but sometimes I did wish I could find one that is non-stick. Frieling came up with this wonderful Black cube line. This is a beautiful, highly polished exterior, medium weight frypan, with the black cube on the bottom and slightly up the sides, exactly where you might have scorches. I have only hand washed this pan and the food releases easily. I have only used silicone and wood utensils on it, although apparently you can use metal, I'm just not willing to take that chance. The ergonomic handle makes this frypan easy to lift and I've not had any issues with heat transfer to the handle. Bottom line, is that I do own several of Freilings products, and I have never been unsatisfied, I think it would be impossible to find fault in their products. My French Press coffee pots are heavy weight, we do miss the glass, but it doesn't shatter. The filters can be found on Amazon. My frypan has earned it's place in my home. This manufacturer is one you can count on for making very high quality cookware, and I very, very highly recommend it.

Excellent at what it's supposed to do
I've only had this for a few weeks and so far I absolutely love it. Let's be clear, this is meant to be a "browning" pan and just happens to be one of the first that has a non-stick feature as well. So please people, use this pan for what's it's designed to do. Stop trying to rate it based on it's ability to fry an egg or cook an omelet, which shouldn't be browned and are best cooked in a flat non-stick surface pan. You need different types of pans for different situations, that's just a fact. So don't buy a whole set of these and think you're done. Instead think about what situations you'd be doing browning and buy the right size of this pan for that. It's does an excellent job searing meat, stir frying veggies, cooking hash browns or any recipe that requires a bit of caramelizing of brown bits to make a good sauce after. It gives nice crispy edges without the hassle of cleaning my usual browning pan option (the old stainless steal or the cast iron). The raised stainless bumps on this pan will get dark brown as food the food cooks, but they clean off easily with one of those plastic scrapers and then I still wash mine by hand with a soap brush. It says you can put it in the dishwasher, but this 11.5" pan is pretty big and would waste a lot of dishwasher real estate, so I still prefer a quick hand wash. It still looks 100% brand new, but it's early. Time will tell if it ever starts peeling like other reviews have noted, but I kept my receipt and original Mfr warranty part of the packaging just in case, since they offer a full replacement if that ever happens. So far, I am LOVING this pan AND the 11.5" size is sweet. It appears well built and is much lighter than my Calphalon 12" fry pan. I've never had a problem with the handle getting hot.

Lousy product and big disappointment
So sorry that I really find this frying pan a disappointment. I had high hopes but this morning the egg I was frying had such a bad odor from the finish or whatever of the frying pan that I had to dump the egg. I do not find it a success with scrambling eggs either. Certainly NOT a non-stick. One has to soak the fry pan and wait to clean it as food adhers to the surface. I am very unhappy with this and will use it for garden fertilizer scoop OUTside of the house. I am past the return date so okay we all buy lemons and this STICK plan does not make sauting, frying any fun or tasty.

Pricey but excellent!
Excellent pan for eggs. I use a little butter and find whether I fry them sunny side up, scramble, or make an omelette they release super easily and the pan is practically clean except for the small amount of butter. Super easy to clean. The handle is welded to the outside of the pan, so it's a clean surface inside the pan. I have now been using this pan for two months. I treat it gently and do not use metal tools even though instructions say I could use them. It still looks brand new. However, the handle is long and a little heavy, so it loses one star both for it being a little harder to balance than I would like and also for its relatively hefty price tag. That being said, I heartily endorse it and would buy another. Given the price tag, use it gently and it seems to last and last!

That this Black Cube frying pan is AWESOME & For most as good as the 3 times as expensive HexClad
It provides all the benefits of teflon, but is way better since here you can use sharp steel tools without even scratching it one bit. It also heats up VERY fast on our induction cooktop, relative to our teflon pans that we just tossed out. We first bought a Hexclad since we knew that Teflon is just not good for you and wanted to test out some new innovative solution so we first bought the 10" HexClad on sale and loved it , then we were to order one more but 8" and found the BlackCube that looked the same but is about 1/3 of the price, so we got one 8" Hexclad and one 8" BlackCube and they are equally good in our kitchen. Maybe if you're in in a restaurant using gas, that the external Hex-coating is adding some benefits since it will enable owners to keep the outside as new too, but for us, they work equally well. Normally I don't rave about products, but this one is for sure worth promoting because we really love it and also because it likely will last a very long time, even if treated tough, thus it's good for the environment too and the wallet. I am going to learn more about the Hex-technology.

Great quality!
I got a 12 inch pan last year and loved it so much I bought the 11 inch one recently. These pans wash up beautifully and my favorite thing is the handle doesn’t get hot on my gas stove like other pans do. These are expensive but worth it. It’s nice to have it stainless, with safe nonstick under the fine grating design. I don’t like older Teflon that can flake in your food. This is a nice heavy bottomed pan that doesn’t warp. I love it and tossed all my old ones!

Not what I expected
This pan is interesting. I'm not sure if it's good or bad. It definitely depends on your expectations. Strengths - It's easy to clean. Water and a sponge will do the trick every time. - Anything that sticks while cooking usually comes off with a scraping motion from your spatula. - Heat transfers well. Things do cook easily and quickly. - It's tough. I haven't damaged it with a metal spatula Weaknesses -Scrabbled eggs stick terribly. You lose a third of them to the pan. They scrap off relatively easily, but not until the stuck part is too over cooked to be desirable -It doesn't brown things well at all. Steaks don't brown much. Potatoes crips well, but the crispy part comes off the potato and remains in the pan. Any browned bits will stick to the pan and come of your food. It's the perfect pan for a deglazed pan sauce, but not for what you'd put it on. So how to really qualify this pan is difficult. It basically lives in that area where a pan works well enough so you don't want to get rid of it, but not well enough that you don't periodically look for a different pan to use.

Scrambled eggs do not stick
I don't know why people say that you can't make scrambled eggs and it sticks badly. This is the 3rd time I've used the pan and tried some scrambled eggs. I used medium heat (as suggest by others), use a lower temp versus your other pans) and used a little melted butter like you always do for eggs and it did NOT stick and was easy to clean.
