Great work shoe
This is my second pair. I got my first from a local boot shop. They have lasted over a year I replaced the insert about 8 months in to get more life and comfort. I work in a warehouse as a maintenance technician so I am always on my feet on concrete and these shoes beat any redwing shoe. They are a little heavier than others but hold up way better. I would recommend to anyone and 2 of my coworkers have switch to them and love them.

Great relief for my neuropathy
I bought these shoes a little over a year ago to replace some other Keens I had purchased over a year prior to that. The prior pair were the Flint 2 low steel toe. Another very nice shoe which I will review on its page.I went with Keen because their shoes fit my feet so well. I have idiopathic peripheral neuropathy which means I have nerve pain in both my feet but I don't have diabetes. If my feet aren't properly supported, by mid afternoon of trudging around, the soles of my feet can feel as if they have been lit on fire.I live on a small homestead farm so we have a few goats, cows, pigs and horses as well as a bunch of dogs to tend to. I have to deal with lots of 50lb bags of feed, putting up fencing, moving hay, walking on rough, sometimes muddy ground. I used to wear 5" rise boots for ankle support but my ankles have strengthened up enough to be able to get by with the low profile shoe which is a little bit cooler in this Texas summer heat. These aren't waterproof but a low shoe that's waterproof is really not offering that much protection so to me it wasn't that big a deal. They seemed to do a decent enough job of keeping my foot dry working in wet and soggy areas.I went with the soft toe in these as opposed to the steel toe. I was having problems of my socks getting destroyed by me unconsciously lifting my toes up against the steel toe. My socks and toes have fared much better with these shoes. The heavy rubber cap has done a very nice job of providing protection while being soft enough not to cause damage to my socks or toes. Because these are substantially built they are a little heavier than other shoes with mesh but still lighter than those with the steel toe.Traction has been good on all types of surfaces. I have a large wooden deck and a couple of ramps on my property that can get quite slick after they get wet. I have not had problems with these slipping out from under me.The laces are fairly good and hold a knot well but the outer sheath on one did wear through at one of the lace loops at around 8 months of nearly daily wear. I would recommend buying a second pair of laces.I have worn these shoes nearly every day and have not babied them in any way. Only thing I've done other than spray off mud from the soles and change broken laces, the uppers and soles have really held up well. They do look well worn but do not have any tears or holes. The insoles have not held up as well. Some of the cloth covering has rubbed off and they have split around the heel cup. This has effected the feel of the shoe enough to where I'm looking to either replace the insole or buy a new pair. I do not fault the manufacture of the shoe at all. Any work shoe that is used hard is going to eventually break down and wear out. Make them any tougher and they won't be comfortable. I highly recommend this shoe. Well worth the cost.

American made
The shoes are great and exactly as I expected. Being American made is a big plus! Very well made.

Awesome toe cap.
I bought these shoes because most people at my job have the steel showing or popping out of their shoes. The comfort is good not great, the durability is outstanding. I'm one of the few people who doesn't have steel popping out of my safety shoes. For the best fit I would try them on before you buy because the sizes are different from regular safety shoes. I would recommend these shoes at any job that requires safty shoes except for harsh weather conditions because these keen safety shoes ARE NOT WATERPROOF.

Rugged!
These are the only work or hiking shoe my husband will wear. I purchased Topo's and Hoka's for him, but no go. He wants these. He does put his own orthotic in them, but he's been through two pairs already.

NOT STEEL TOE!!!!!!!!!!!
The main description says steel toe. They are not steel toed. I ordered a pair and they are soft toe. If you go into product information and expand they say soft toe.Keen, Amazon, and other sellers need to spend some more time checking their advertisements. I ordered a pair of Reeboks and they ended up being women’s shoes but were listed as men’s.

Well made but has design issues
I have been living with these shoes for two months now. They are well made and very sturdy. In my opinion there some design flaws that warrant mention:1. As others have mentioned they are sized small. I carefully used their recommended measurements of my foot to determine the size they recommend. This did not seem correct based upon other shoes over the decades that I have bought (one size too small). Based upon the comments here, I bought one full size larger; my normal shoe size. That seemed to be about the correct length.2. The tongue of the shoe though minimally adequate seems to be at least a half inch too short at the top based upon the height of the laces where they fall on the tongue and the placement of the loops on the side of the shoe. When the shoe laces are tied normally the knot is uncomfortably close to the top of the tongue. As stated minimally acceptable but I would expect a higher level of function based upon the cost of the shoe.3. The width of the opening that the tongue covers is excessive. Although the tongue of the shoe covers the opening the eye loops seem excessively far apart. The tongue barely covers the side of the shoe. As stated before minimally acceptable but I would expect a higher level of design based upon the cost of the shoe.4. The shoes are comfortable enough when being worn as normally laced but when walking my heel moves in the back part of the shoe. When walking, even though the front of my foot and arch area is held firm my heel moves within the shoe. This can be moderately mitigated, but not eliminated, by lacing the shoe tighter. This tightening of the laces seems to, for me, create an uncomfortable pressure on the top of my foot. The shoe is very well made to the design specifications but , the shoe seems to have been designed to very minimally acceptable operational specifications. I have worn Keens products for over ten years; would I buy another of this model of shoe, no based upon what I perceive to be design flaws,
