can you use it with gas fires?

Purchased to prevent pigeons landing on chimney pots. No fire nor gas fire in use so not sure if you can use cowls with gas fire, contact the supplier.

Can the chimney be swept ifmusing one of three guards?

As long as the brush doesn't push right through the chimney pot.. then it will push off the cowl. Is ok if the cowl's removed first, then put it back after... i guess your chimney sweep could do that.

Is this suitable for use with open/wood fire

I have had no problem since fitting these would not think wood burners or open fires would affect there operation.
