NYDJWomen’s Barbara Bootcut Fit Denim Jeans

Very few brands live-up to their name and in this case, "Not Your Daughters Jeans" live up to the name. Finding jeans nowadays is a complete crap shoot. Highwaisted? Low rise? Flare? Bootcut? Straight? Skinny? I just want a pair of jeans I can sit down in, thank you.I recently lost about 100lbs from the day I gave birth to now. I also had a C-Section, so I've got a lovely role of "Formerly Occupied by a 10 lb Infant" flab. I also have very skinny legs and no bum which doesn't change regardless of how much I weigh. Long story short, after I finally abandoning my pre-pregnancy and postpartum jeans, I ordered a pair of the "Barbara Bootcut Fit" from NYDJ. They are *definitely* vanity sized because I am a 16 in trousers because of the baby pooch (RIP stomach), but I ordered a 14 and they are SO COMFORTABLE. The wash is perfect, the waist and fit is great, I don't feel pressure and they don't give me the trots (TMI, sorry, yay IBS). My bum looks AMAZING and so do my bird legs. My husband is obsessed with them which is totally weird because I could walk into a room wearing a paper bag and I don't think he'd notice, so that's something.Long story short: invest in yourselves, ladies. These are comfortable, they fit well, they're clearly made by people who know women's bodies and all the various ways they change. I almost bought a $120 pair from somewhere else before I bought these and tbh, I'd spend $120 on my next pair of these baddies.

I have worn these jeans for years and keep coming back to buy them again. They label a size off to flatter one, but for example, it you order a size 8, it actually fits like a size 10. Read the fine print on the order sheet and it will tell you so. That said I love the fit, very flattering, and comfortable. I will continue to buy this jean until they don't make it any more. The one thing I don't like is that they don't last long. To be elastic, the fabric is not as durable as other jeans, and the color continues to bleed in the wash forever. But, they fit so well, I overlook those issues.

I am about 5’4 and weigh 140. I bought a size 4. The NYDJ website suggests sizing down. When I put them on they felt ALMOST too tight to zip and I thought what have I done! But I got the zipper up. At first I thought, great too small. But the rest of the pant fit perfectly and a 6 would have been way too big. Luckily, the fabric is so forgiving and stretches to fit your body after wearing them. Now I loce the fit and was very comfortable in them for hours of sitting, walking, standing.

NYDJ jeans are my favorite but there are exceptions. I always order the "Barbara" cut but the style alone doesn't guarantee satisfaction. I have several pair in different shades of blue and black and although they are all Barbara cut the fit changes depending on the color. I'm assuming that's because different colors come in different material. My first three pair were all the same color and all fit the same. After that I ordered three more pair. Two in "Cooper" and one in black. The Cooper pairs are much thinner material and don't fit nearly as well as my first three of "Heyburn". The black pair is heavier material like the Heyburn but doesn't fit quite as well but still much better than the Coopers do. The thinner pairs get baggy and aren't flattering at all. Since these are very hit or miss for fit I suggest once you learn which shade works best for you stay with it. When they're good they're very, very good and look and feel great.UPDATE TO REVIEW: I am very unhappy with my last pair. They have a VERY STRONG odor. It reminds me of high school (45 years ago) science class. We had to dissect frogs (yes that was a thing 45 years ago) that were kept in jars of formaldehyde. I don't know what the smell is but it smells just like formaldehyde and I can't get it out. I've washed these jeans 4 times and they still reek of whatever this is. I'm really angry because these are not cheap jeans. I should have returned them when I first received my order but I thought the smell would wash out. If you buy a pair and they have this odor return them our you'll be throwing them away too.

I bought these jeans after getting a pair in a store and liking them. Within 2 weeks the seam where you close the jeans came unstitched - and the jeans were not very tight. Then, about 2 weeks later, the stitching on one of the back pockets came off, and kept coming off. I reached out to them to mention this, and they never responded. I've never had jean stitching fail so early - most of my jeans last for decades.So, overall poor quality and poor customer service. Pick a different brand.

I've been wearing NYDJs for years. I like their boot cut style. The quality is worth the price. These are stretch denim and forgiving as my weight tends to fluctuate 3-5 pounds. I bought the Cooper wash. The pockets are well placed and always in use! Comfort, wear, wash, and fit works for me!

I have never had a faulty pair of these jeans.

I am so happy the pants I ordered were the exact same as my other ones of the same designer. They are now years old!

Flattering fit and last well. The slightly stretchy fabric make them extremely comfortable too.
