SpektrumSMART Smart S250 AC Charger, 2x50W, SPMXC2060

The media could not be loaded. I’ve always been a big fan of Spectrum, but this charger is a complete letdown. It stopped working after just three charges. I figured it might be a fluke and exchanged it for the same model. However, the new one failed after only one charge! Frustrated, I decided to try my luck with the same model of a charger from a local hobby store, only for it to die within a week. The store accepted the return and mentioned that Spectrum is trying to get rid of this particular model due to its high failure rate. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this charger. Their one-port chargers seem to work fine, but this one is a disaster.

As you can see in the photo, the S250 can also discharge and also do the more important "storage charge".Batteries are expensive! Especially the G2 smart batteries which are all I use. How you store your LiPo batteries is more important then how you use them.I made the mistake of buying the bundles that came with the S150 charger. Sure the S150 charges the batteries but that's all. Batteries need more then just recharging to get your moneys worth out of them.All my electronics are Spektrum. After charging and using my batteries they are actually below the reccomended storage level. If they go too low, they won't charge. If you chrage them and don't use them, it damages them and they won't charge.So after I use them, I let them cool for several hours and them storage charge them to 3.8v (the S250 shows them at 31% capacity)

I thought I was geting a better product and better service buy paying more but i was wrong. This charger seemed ok for very light use for 5 months less than 50 charger cycles then is stoped charging then when i pluged in a different battery there was a big bang and zap sound and smoke came out this seems like a fire hazord and the warranty proses is to ship it to spektrum at my expens and see if they will fix it no guarantees on if I am responsible for the repairs untill i send it to them.

Worked great I think could improve on the noise it’s pretty loud while charging be my only complaint

Function wise it is the same as my S155 Spektrum chargers. Worked fine out of the box charging two 3s 5200 lipo packs. Second time I went to use it nada….no display..no action … kaput.Verified it was not my outlet or the supplied cord…nope… charger is dead.Thanks to AZ’s return policy it makes it easy to do.Ordered the S2100 as a replacement…hopefully will have better luck with it.

I used this charger three times. On the fourth time, the screen would not light up and nothing would happen. I even tried a different electrical outlet to verify. Returned the charger and went with a different brand. I have had no problems since. I give this charger ZERO stars.

Trash bought 2 and both broke within 30days
