The perfect alternative to track lighting when you don't want to pay an electrician to install the real thing. All I had to do is mount the lamp to the wall with the included hardware(1 screw with plastic anchor), put in a spotlight bulb, plug it into the electrical outlet, and point it to the desired direction.

Simple and effective lighting that's easy to adjust, durable, and dependable. The metal canister does get hot but also dissipates heat quickly enough to not be a problem, but I would exercise care in leaving the fixture against anything close to flammable. That's just a mechanical property of the metal and not based on the electronic components of the light.If you need a simple and low-cost spotlight, this makes an excellent choice.

I have 4 of these lights providing background lighting behind a racing sim cockpit, and due to their weight they stay in place and project the light just as I wanted it. I'm using smart bulbs in mine and leave the switches on and when I want to turn the lights on or off I use a remote that came with the bulbs. This setup works perfect for me! I purchased the first set of 2 more than 4 years ago, and just recently purchased 2 more, and I have had zero problems with any of them.

I find the brushed nickle to be attractive, the make is sturdy, the size is adequate and its not too heavy to be wall mounted. I purchased the accent lamp to be used as a wall mounted lamp over a vanity/desk area. I use a 60 watt daylight bulb in the accent lamp which supplies a good amount of light to the area. I do not use the light for long durations. The cord is not extremely long but long enough to reach an outlet if it is within approximately 5 feet. The on/off switch it approximately 1 1/2 feet from the lamp base. The lamp angle can be adjusted and secured in place. I find the Catalina Lighting Modern Multipurpose Spotlight Desk or Wall Mount Accent Lamp, 6" Brushed Nickel lamp to be a good purchase and a good fit for my needs. The price is right.

Innovative idea: use a BR 20 Indoor Flood Light LED bulb instead of the bulb which seller suggests. This produces a true flood light which illuminates the pages of a book to permit reading 8' away. The LED bulb does not get hot so neither does the metal lamp. In any event, the lamp is well made with a stylish design.

Got these to go along with two i already had, to add drama for high ceilings with art on my walls. A perfect match even though my earlier ones were from at least a decade ago. Cute, functional, modern - just right! Price was awesome too.

I ordered two of them to see if I could brighten up a room. First, quick delivery. Same day and arrived in the delivery window. Arrived in a plastic bag, a recycled paper box would have been more protection given the fact that one of the two was also in a plastic bag and didn't come with the mounting screw that was with the one in a box. The one in a bag looked like a return but I can't prove that other than parts were missing.The light bulb that I used is not fully covered by the outside tube of the fixture so you can't place it an area where you might have to look at it. You might be able to use a spot light type LED but a regular bulb or led bulb sticks out the end.Past that, I'm sure you get what you pay for. Time will tell with this, but I'm not thrilled about this, but I'm also not going to spend my time putting it back in a package and taking it to be returned.
