Can I use two of these to pair two controllers (1 each)?

there was another person who asked this question but someone said no because they wont fit next to one another. I'm assuming for those that did do this you had to use a usb extension cable to hook up the other one because 2 adapters wont have enough space to be hooked up next to one another. Can anyone confirm they have done this? Id like to use 2 PS4 controllers spending less than $50 rather than $60 for 1 controller
