Great batten light easy to fit , good amount of light
Was quite pleased that this came available as a similar one I had in my workshop had expired a few weeks ago after a few years use .Comes in a cardboard packaging with the instructions on the outside , plus paper instructions inside with the screws and connectors ( I didn't use connectors supplied as I had some already which were more robust)The clips that are used to fix the batten are already in the light and need taking out and attaching to where you are mounting it to and then the light put back on the clips. The light is very light and plasticity , but then it is only led's so it doesn't need to be any different than that.I fitted the brackets to the ceiling on my workshop , push the plastic batten back onto the clips so it was held secure and I then had an electrician wire it up , he said it was super easy and was only two wires and took him literally 5 minsThe light is 1.2m long so its a decent size , when turned on it is very bright and lights up that end of my workshop really well, for the price it is sold at I am very pleased and it works really well and looks good in my workshop

Clips are useless
The lights themselves are brilliant but the clips are useless as keep disconnecting had to use no nails to keep them up.

Excellent distribution of light
I've been wondering how to better illuminate my garage / workshop now that the evening are drawing in. The 2 standard 100W lightbulbs I currently have in the garage don't seem to cut the mustard, and certainly don't illuminate into the darker corners. I was wondering whether there was some LED type of alternative to a fluorescent light tube that my granny used to have in her kitchen, which buzzed and flickered until you had to hit it with a broom... The only good thing about fluorescent light tubes was they gave off a lot of light along their length. - not just puddles of light you get from a bulb.I saw this LED batten tube and straight away knew I had to try it in the garage. Rather than wiring it into the existing lighting I decided to connect a long bit of cable to the light end and a 13A plug to the other (if you were going to put this in your house then you would want to do it properly, but in the garage it is easy to nail the wire to the exposed beams - not pretty but fast!). The other reason for wiring a plug at the end of this light is so that I can attach a smart plug to turn the light on automatically when a motion sensor senses... well... motion! This means I don't have to fumble for the light switch whilst carrying in an armful of stuff into the garage in the dark.I fastened the light an exposed wooden beam and carefully pushed on the cover. I say carefully because the whole LED batten is super light-weight (maybe even flimsy?). The way the cover clips onto the main batten is probably the worst part of the light, but once up then hopefully will stay up.The light given off is exactly what I was after - well distributed light along the length with no puddling like you get with bulbs.

Very light weight to the point of feeling a bit flimsy.
The most obvious thing about this light is just how little it weights, this could be very useful for some installations and once it's in place doesn't really matter but when you are handling the light it feels like it could break easily. The fixing brackets are also very flimsy being just thin bits of bent metal and once clipped to the light there is not much clearance so you need to make sure whatever fixings you are using they do not protrude too much and stop the light from being clipped to the brackets. The cable is fixed and can be routed out of a small removable notch in the endcap if you are not routing it through the ceiling.Once turned on the light gives off a very even light with no hot spots, and due to the shape of the diffuser you get a good spread of light and not just a small area illuminated.A nice light ideal for the garage or shed with a cool white light but be careful with the installation.
