VTech Baby Hello, Hippo! Soft Phone

My granddaughter really likes this little phone.

VTech is constantly coming out with cute educational toys for babies and toddlers. Finally they are releasing small soft toys with electronics that can hook onto a car seat!This Hello, Hippo phone! Is soft on the back side but hard plastic on the front (it’s not soft all over the “phone” like I thought it would be. The front does have a softer textured rubber edge and soft squishy rubber buttons. The face and belly are the hard parts.I like that this is a good size for little uncoordinated hands and especially that it can be strapped on to something so it isn’t dropped or thrown on the floor.There are six interactive buttons on the toy: the mouth which plays feelings phrases, the hippo’s “heart”, and four “phone” buttons. Each plays sound effects and songs such as phone sounds or twinkle twinkle little star. The buttons also light up different colors so it provides visual stimulation.This toy takes 3 AAA batteries (included). There is no volume control but fortunately it isn’t super loud.Babies are pretty smart blobs and they know that this isn’t the same thing as mom and dad’s coveted phone but this is a fun toy anyway. This is a good value and would make a nice gift.

This Hello Hippo soft phone is a great lightweight and engaging baby toy.The squishy fabric rim around this phone helps prevent baby from bonking herself in the face with a hard surface when motor skills aren't yet refined. The face of the hippo is solid but not super hard and not at all heavy. The buttons are soft and squishy and easy to press without even trying to so even young babies can turn on the lights and sounds just by holding, throwing or gumming the phone.Pressing any button causes multiple buttons to light up and sound to start. The sounds aren't especially loud but are loud enough to help get baby's attention with the lights and help distract from frustration of, say, having to be buckled in a carseat (ask me how I know...)Very pleased with this engaging baby toy. I love that it's just the right size for little ones to cuddle and play with and also has a hanging loop to hook it onto a carseat or stroller clip.

This is a cool little toy for babies/toddlers. It's their first phone. Push buttons and they play different recordings. It's soft to hold. It has cute recorded messages. The phone buttons make different sounds and it's just a really cute toy for any toddler.

I have not found a VTech toy I did not like and this is no exception. Its cute, easy to hold and of course makes lots of fun sounds. It is not as small or soft as I expected based on the description but it is still a good toy. My 6 month old grand son can mostly hold it and soon he will have no trouble at all. It kept him busy for longer than I would have expected.

This is such a nice little baby toy. Lots of sounds, lights, and buttons to entertain baby. Also comes with a handy strap to hook onto car seat, stroller, or toy bar. My granddaughter loved it. Her brothers did too😆

Loved how cute it is and the texture, but I can hardly hear it.

My nephew came to visit recently and even though he's a bit older than the intended audience, he loves phones and I thought I'd try this for him while he was visiting. He loved it and played with it a ton while he was here! He's known to pick up the TV remote and put it up to his ear and have a whole conversation with himself, so this was a good fit for him.
