This mate is solid. I use this one often, and consider it to be one of my favorites. It can hold alot of yerba, making it good for a traditional communal session with a Cebador. Being made of carob, it lends a subtle chocolate flavor, but curing is recommended to avoid cracks in the wood. The bombilla that comes with is solid, and as long as the mate is set up correctly, it doesn't clog easily and has a nice draw to it. It can also take quite a bit of abuse; I accidentally fumbled mine down a large flight of stairs stairs, and it is holding up just fine.

Ok this isn't near the 10 oz capacity as advertised, capacity is at most 6 Oz, I bought it because I wanted a nice mate cup with good capacity I was hesitating if return it or not, at the end I decided to keep it because I loved the look, in quality it can be better the metal rim on top is not very well placed and the curing process they tell you to do is wrong! this is not calabash mate, this is wood cup and you have to cure it with butter or oil, your choice. Ok to wrap this up it serves its purpouse after the curing process, looks good but has a very small capacity.
