Question from an older lady - is this really light to use? - I am thinking of strain on shoulders as well as back.

Hello older lady. I too am an older lady (65) and absolutely love this piece of equipment. Yes, some leverage is required, mainly from the upper arms to lift the grabbe up and put the leaves into the green bin, but if you have a smaller garden bag you won't have to lift it as high and that really is the only effort required. However, this more than compensates for not having to bend down to pick up leaves and garden debris saving pressure on the back and the knees. I would thoroughly recommend it and if you buy one you will wonder how you managed without it.

From what material is made?

The handles are made from green-enamelled tubular steel, with soft foam across the top for the grip. The grab/collect surfaces are made from a robust green plastic: I guess it is either high-density polythene or polypropylene. It has proved to be to be strong and durable. What is the overall size and does it come ready assembled?

Several friends of varying heights (& I: 5' 5") find this a brilliant tool. Grabs huge quantity at a time & saves crouching down & bending. Comes ready to use.

How wide are the blades?

The blades are 40 cm or 16 inches in old money. The best tool in the shed, and most used in the garden.
