The ricer that I bought did not come with 3 discs. It had a single cup (or basket). The ricer worked well, but I was disappointed in the fact that the product was not one piece. The cup actually is removable and is not fixed or attached to the handles. That made it very awkward when using the ricer because when you lift the handle after pressing the potatoes, the cup wants to lift up a bit. Also you cannot rest the ricer on the bottom of the cup or the cup lifts out. It's a good thing that I don't use this frequently or I would have returned it.

TV chefs make this tool look effortless. My arm still hurt weeks after my Thanksgiving mashed potatoes!! I enlisted my teenage granddaughter to rice the potatoes for Christmas. This girl is a fitness maniac and she agreed - the ricer is a workout! Once riced - the potatoes are dreamy, yes I said dreamy - that is NOT a typo. They are a perfect canvas for adding whatever you add to your mashed potatoes. Having said that - I know I'm not likely to use it again. I'm NEVER volunteering to make mashed potatoes for a crowd again. I've already decided to wrap this twice used tool up for my White Elephant contribution at the next Christmas grab bag. It will be a great gift for someone who loves a good workout before dinner. But don't let that dissuade you fun kooks - I mean cooks out there that want to give it a try. Your potatoes will be the best you've made and you're guaranteed to have one muscular arm as a result - unless of course your ambidextrous! Have fun!!

I bought this right before Thanksgiving in order to make really good mashed potatoes from a recipe. It was perfect. Large capacity, easy to use and felt very well made. I saw some videos of other ones that broke right away but this held up well!
