Replacement 2 button key fob case for Citroen C1 C2 C3 C4 C6 Xsara remote key.

Perfect replacement key fob for C1, very happy. Easy to assemble.

My son's key fob button to unlock his C1 (2010) deteriorated and broke off, hence I ordered this as a replacement. I had hoped to merely replace the button side of the key, though it was a very close fit it didn't quite snap together perfectly so instead used the new key (front and rear case) in its entirety. Replacing the whole key was very simple, the interior circuit board and separate transponder chip all fit well (there are plenty of guides on YouTube). My son has a new key and all works well. Only took a few minutes in total, so I'm very pleased with the result.

Perfect

Very easy to put together, took just a couple of minutes. Both the lock and unlock buttons on my original key (Citroen C1) had either fallen out or was very very loose and about to, that's all sorted now. Like other reviews have mentioned, don't forget the little chip for the immobiliser. It looks like a small plastic/magnet tucked away. That was the most fiddly part of swapping the cases over, just making sure I got that out carefully without damaging it but even then it's easy to prise it out if you get a small flat screwdriver in the right place underneath. It has a slight curve on one side so can only go in one way (I'm not sure if it would make a difference either way but it's easy to see which way to slot it in). It comes with a blank metal plate for having a new key cut but this wasn't needed in my case, I just used the old one which again was very easy and fit perfectly. I just wish I'd have bought this sooner instead of messing faffing around with a broken key for so long!

Good enough for a price

The lock/unlock buttons on the original fob broken away - went to a well known high street key cutting company and advised that I only needed a replacement fob, nothing else, no key cutting, nothing, only a replacement fob - they advised £50 for the fob. Got this, changed it over within 2 minutes, and working fine.

Upon receipt of the new fob we transferred what was thought was everything and we were happy that it locked and unlocked the C1. However, when we went to use the car the engine did not fire up/wouldn't start. It did not occur to us that it was to do with the fob. There is a small black piece of plastic that looks like part of the old key but needs to be extracted and put into the new fob. If you do not do this you will not be able to start the car.

well this has shocked me for how low the price is on here,,because i checked in my local cobblers who does everything and the same key fob as this was £45 so i know where i will be buying from now on ,
