Hobby Engine 1:30 Scale Construction Tower Crane Infrared Control

Purchased as a Christmas present for my 4 year old son. The box it arrived in was very thin, and I was initally worried, however, once assembled, its quite a rugged bit of kit. My son loves playing with it, Full movment and sounds, and it will happly lift up things like mobile phones, wallets, sets of keys etc (nothing too heavy). The arm did break once because my son decided to roll on it with a friend, but it superglued back together fine. Recommended.

Bought one and sent it back.The crane itself is fantastic and well built. However, the sound effects are MUCH TOO NOISY.By too noisy, I mean it really is stupidly loud with harsh, grating sound effects.I would have liked to use it in the garden, but I think my neighbours 3 doors down would have complained!Another issue I had was that the up arrow on the remote moved the hook down and the down arrow moved the hook up. Not ideal.Please note, the remote itself is button rather than lever controlled.After sending this back ... I bought this for my son's 8th birthday. He had had one 4 years ago, when he was a bit young for it, and what with him and his younger sister it had been knocked over countless times and eventually broke that bit too much! (The electrics all still worked perfectly, though!!). He was desperate to replace his beloved crane, so we have done. It is exactly the same, works very well, is really cool having a proper remote control instead of a cable controller. He's thrilled to bits with it. It is designed so that if it does get knocked over, the "cables" which support the crane arm release easily and the crane arm pivots down. It is vulnerable to being knocked over, given its height and small base. But hey! it's great fun and he's going to be careful with it ;) .

We where not sure about this product but it is fantastic. It is just the right size the full range of movements are great and it can pickup a lot of weight our son loves it has been transporting cars around in the bucket. It looks to be well built and strong enough for the job it also has some great detailing.

We bought this for our sons 7th birthday. It is a lovely concept but due to the poor quality he has to pay very cautiously with it as it is very flimsy and we don't expect it to last long with two boys in our house - haven't the heart to take it away from our son in order to complain / return it. There is a light on top that should flash when in use but has not worked since we tookmit out of the box. Not good value for money at all. :(

Great toy.delivered next day .stronger than other toys .infra red control good for three year old no risk of pulling it over.

Kept a 5 year old amused for hours on Christmas day. Was easily assembled with minimum fuss and seems fairly well made. Instructions were very clear and simple to follow.

It was a birthday gift for my son and he enjoyed it. Easy to install and to operate. But its size is relatively large.
