Great for catch and release of useful bugs you don’t want in your house
I admit I’m kind of a pacifist about killing things. I figure they all have a reason to live, I just don’t want them in my house. I live in the desert and there are lots of gnarly bugs. I catch scorpions and put them outside to eat bugs out there. Lizards and spiders too. Okay, I kill kissing bugs and flies and mosquitoes when I can catch them, but that’s it. I like this thing.

Pretty good
Ever since getting this, I have managed to rescue and relocate several spiders and crickets. It does have a bit of a learning curve, and one spider did die in one of my attempts. Definitely has to be a decent-sized critter that you're trying to catch. I am always a bit nervous when folding it up, and extending it to full size. The inner cord is very tight, and you have to turn and have it go through the little cut-ins or it won't fold. I'm afraid of breaking that, but maybe that's not something I need to worry about.

Cheapi don't buy
Terrible , it broke when I tried to use it. The bristles at the end won't open & close. Cheaply made. disappointed!!

Great product!
This item is a lifesaver for anyone who doesn't want to get too close to spiders and doesn't want to kill them. I've safely removed dozens of spider from inside to outside over the years

Works.
We were finding all kinds of spiders in our house. I ordered this thing and it failed on the first spider I tried to catch. The spider who escaped must’ve told all the other spiders because I didn’t see another one for months. When one finally did show itself, this thing worked fine. Haven’t see one since.

Different than other similar looking models
I have purchased what I thought was identical items before and was very satisfied. This items resting position is with the bristles open. And you pull the trigger to close them. Also, the bristles don’t open very far. The superior unit, the bristles bias position is closed, and you pull the trigger to open the bristles. They open much farther and make a better capture. However, this unit is still functional though not quite as effective.

Cool Bug Removal Tool
This thing is great! The end has plastic brushes that open when you squeeze the handle. Open and close all of your fingers in a pinching motion and you get the idea. You lower it over the "Critter" that needs to be removed and release the handle to close the end. Go outside, open the handle and dump out the passenger. There are two layers of brushes: one gently sweeps the critter into the center, the other is shorter, firmer and has inward curved ends that touch so the critter doesn't go out the end of the bristles. We drop spiders outside, so have noticed that it does sometimes break a leg of the more delicate ones but they at least have a chance, unlike if they stayed in my house. You'll be glad you bought one of these!

Best thing ever!!!!
Best thing ever. I can catch them, not hurt them and put them outside and THAT is saying a lot because I'm terrified of spiders but don't want to kill them. It doesn't hurt them at all and it's far enough away I can handle it.

Impressive how well it works
I got this because my daughter really dislikes spiders and I wanted her to be able to deal with them without calling me all the time. When I first saw it I thought the end was too flimsy to grab spiders effectively but it works surprisingly well - so well that she has no problem collecting spiders and placing them outside without me now!

Amazing
Amazing tool to have if you are creeped out by bugs in your household. I have a open space behind my house and i get spiders frequently.. this tool is amazing.. now i can release them without killing them. Win win

Useless - mechanism works opposite of how it should - don't purchase
Absolute GARBAGE - do not buy this particular product. Not only is the whole thing VERY cheaply made - the "joint" area of the extension is very wobbly, doesn't fit together well, and feels like it will break at any moment. But even more importantly, the way the bristles catch the bug is (very importantly) OPPOSITE to what it should be. I have another older trap, better made trap and with it, you squeeze the handle to OPEN the soft nylon bristles, place it around the spider/bug and RELEASE the handle to close it - trapping the bug inside, then you can comfortably take the bug outside. With this trap, the bristles are always OPEN - you then place it over a spider/bug and with great difficulty because the handle is so cheap - you squeeze the bristles CLOSED over the spider/bug. You then have to keep a death grip on the handle to keep it closed while you walk to wherever your outside is to release the bug. It's VERY difficult to keep the handle squeezed tightly enough to keep the bristles closed. A proper catcher is the opposite - you open to catch the bug and release to close the bristles.

Not the best option
I’ve had many of these but this is the first time buying this brand. Normally the trigger causes the end to open and you release and it closes again. This is the opposite, it remains open and you use the trigger to close. The problem is you have no control over how much it opens and it doesn’t open much. The rest of it is great but the most important part should be much better. Would go for one of the other brands I bought over this one and would not recommend.
