Great blocks
These blocks are great and I highly recommend them. These are one of the most fun 'toys' out there. They are more heavy duty than I imagined that they were going to be. When I first received them and went to bring in the box I had a hard time lifting it because they are not super light weight as I expected from plastic blocks. I like how versatile they are and how they can be used for play and for more serious purposes. They have holes in the middle of them, I assume for air flow. They also do stick together well; so well that my almost 4 year old had a bit of trouble getting the larger blocks apart. I like that they stick well though so that our structures aren't going to just fall apart. We had a lot of fun building with them. This set isn't really all that huge so we built a little fort up against a wall, using the wall for 1 side. Building in a corner would be even better - or if you can afford another set. I was originally wishing I had more of the large blocks, but I do think it's fun for our play building to have the smaller ones, too. It makes it better for creativity in our structures. If I were wanting to build a wall to block off a space or something I would prefer more large blocks and less small ones though.I do think that these are quite pricey, but you do get what you pay for. They are very high quality blocks.

Really cool
When I opened the box, these got my kid to look away from a screen and start talking about what kind of fort we could build, which I feel is really the best review I could offer. But beyond that there are so many possibilities I’m eager to explore — I’ve seen someone do modular furniture with them and I’m going to try that out the next time I host a party, for instance. They seem sturdy and stable as I’ve played around with them and they look good (I got the dark blue and it’s just as pictured).

Very fun and good quality, but SO expensive for enough to make anything really big!
At first, when I saw the size of the box, I thought the possibilities were endless! But then I realized pretty quickly the individual bricks are so big, and there is such a variety of bricks, that one package is not really enough to make anything particularly large or cool.Ive managed to make a small simple chair and a stool, but it took most of the useable blocks and didn't have many left over to do anything with.As someone who grew up making all kinds of stuff with legos, I was SO excited to get these, and they are REALLY cool, but they just are so expensive to buy enough of!With that in mind, I would recommend the product itself, but they are definitely better if you can afford to buy (and store) a LOT of them!

Fun, But Not Quite Great - Expensive
I ordered Black and White.I grew up with "waffle" blocks, which you could easily make whatever you wanted to with - from cars and houses to boxes and stairs that could support a kids weight... and unfortunately these really don't compare to those well. With so few per box, and at such a huge price... it's hard to really build anything fun with a single set, and to really build something cool, I think you'll need 3-4 sets. The value just isn't there next to waffle blocks. These jumbo blocks are strong, and durable overall. Only one block had some damage out of the box, but it still connects well and works fine. The blocks are a bit dirty out of the box though (see picture)... I ended up wiping both colors down and they definitely dirtied my cleaning rags. They don't connect to each other strong enough. The smooth tops have almost no connection strength, while the normal pieces are pretty weak, with a 1x4 piece connected on two sections unable to stay straight while suspended. They need tighter tolerancing to really snap together... the looseness limits what you can do. The doorways in my examples, show the one piece sagging with the smooth top connector just not doing anything. The 50 piece set does indeed have 50 pieces, but too many are the smaller pieces which are just not useful for much.IF this set had more larger pieces, and were maybe $100-150 instead of $275, I might recommend them, but at this price, I definitely recommend waffle blocks instead. These aren't worth it.
