The Relaxation and Stress Reduction Workbook for Kids: Help for Children to Cope with Stress, Anxiety, and Transitions (Instant Help)

Such a great series of children's self help books actually written FOR and TO kids.
We have The Relaxation and Stress workbook and the ADHD workbook for Kids. They're perfect for my 9 and 11 year old kids. They way they're written and the activities are geared specifically towards the child which empowers them to be in control (rather than ones written to the parent who then instructs the child). I was very surprised at howhat well the activities work. The only flaw? My forgetfulness in encouraging their use and making the time to do it with them (if they want me to)

There are some great activities. It is geared for families but I am using a couple of activities in therapy sessions. I think I was hoping for more strategies relating to anxiety rather than stress but that was my own expectation. It is a worthwhile book.

Great Book, but not user friendly
The book is a great resource for the family, but it is not user friendly. As a workbook you should be able to print the work pages and logs. However it is a pain to get them printed. There are several steps that must be done and in the end you still have to enlarge the document. I is a HUGE hassle. As a workbook the publisher should be able to find a way to unlock the worksheets to make them printable. Otherwise it is an awesome resource.

Relaxation
I look forward to using the exercises in this book. It covers many areas that affect and help the stress that kids feel.

Just breath!
A friend of mine is a Therapsit. She recommended this book to assist me with my 8 year old son. I have only read 2 chapters so far but it seems to be pretty good.

Nice Concepts
I’ve used the individual version of this workbook for years and love it. This family version has definitely been a great workbook for us as a family. Kids seem to be constantly on a screen if not at school and have no actual ideas how to decompress or even that they need to decompress and this helps give them the tools they need to take time out to just be with themselves and their families.

Easy to apply with children
Use this book in my work with counselling children and I find the explanations and exercises are easy to understand and follow. The kids have enjoyed learning about ways they can have control over themselves when they feel stress coming on.

Great for calming anxious kids.
My daughter loves this book. It helps with her nightly routine to wind down and get better sleep. Was recommended by our therapist as a good book for kids with anxiety issues.

Great for practical parenting
I was looking for something to help me talk to and work with my 7 year old who gets anxious and frustrated which leads to him having a paddy. I didn't want to have to plough through a weighty and worthy text book all about anxiety and this, i feel, is the answer for us.It is packed with great ideas and activities, ideal for the way our family works. Follow some advice, and leave what is not useful. The book is well laid out with good explanations, relaxation techniques and illustrations. I am looking forward to starting with the 'stress detective' game. The workbook is described 'for kids' but, be warned it starts with de-stressing the adults! Lead by example.Recommended to parents of children aged 6-10 years.
