This was very easy to install and is very easy to use. Be aware that you will need an antenna before using it. We didn't realize that a separate antenna was "required" and thought it may work for our needs without one. But the instructions say not to operate without an antenna. But the sales information on the page didn't mention that. I now think all of these style of radios are probably the same in that aspect and we simply didn't know. This is my first mounted VHF radio as I have only used hand held before this. Live and learn.
