3 1/2" Waterless Trap Seal

Was easy ti install & stopped the drain smell.

This eliminated smells from my basement drain and stopped the trap from drying out.

worked but only lasted about a year, then didnt seal anymore.. smell starting leaking by trap

The product would be 5 stars if they could actually get the dimensions proper as per the manufacturer's website. It is well built and sturdy design, but outer tolerances are off as I ordered based on fit range in millimeters from Green Drain website. I have verified my inside drain diameter, and it should have a slight friction fit, but instead just slides into drain without any resistance.At the moment I have cut a band from a bicycle inner tube, and wrapped it around the outside to provide enough friction fit so it doesn't fall down into the trap below.

It was easy to install, but an item like this should not have to be replaced regularly. I'm not sure what the life expectancy is, but I recently inspected 2 drains and the silicone seals are gone. I'm not sure how long they lasted. I've had them for 5 years, but started noticing sewer gas within 2 years whenever I used my new whole house fan. I just assumed the lowered air pressure was more than the flaps could resist so I didn't inspect the flaps earlier. We rarely used bleach in our laundry.
