UPDATE AFTER A FULL YEAR OF USAGE: Does not really work. I would still plug it in because I was desperate for anything to work.. even bought refills but honestly it never worked. :( I will update this review after a few more weeks of usage, however I’ll briefly describe the experience thus far (4 days into having the diffuser plugged in.) The package came in perfect condition with every piece included so no complaints there. When I plugged it in, per other review’s complaints, I checked to make sure it wasn’t getting too hot or burning. It wasn’t so all good on the burning/too hot issue! I cannot smell it at all. My dog (15 month old lab mix) seems to like it, or at least doesn’t mind it. He goes in his crate a lot recently (I plugged it in right next to his crate for calming reasons.) I will hopefully have good things to review in a few weeks but it came just as expected with no problems so far. I also use Zesty’s calming bites, Thundershirt, and an organic calming spray for dogs.

I really wanted this to work for my male Corgi’s severe afternoon anxiety, but after three separate units and three different bottles of oil, I’ve given up. The pheromones ARE effective when they actually diffuse, but there is a major quality control issue with the wicks. In three consecutive bottles, the wick has completely "glazed" over or dried out within two weeks, despite the vial being nearly full. Even with the heater functioning and the unit level, the oil simply stops wicking. I’ve tried "priming" the wicks and cleaning the units—nothing works. Worse than the defective product is the lack of support. I reached out to the manufacturer (ThunderEase/Ceva) multiple times and was completely ghosted. If you have a pet that relies on this for stability, the inconsistency is a dealbreaker. Pros: Works well if it actually diffuses. Cons: High failure rate on wicks, expensive for a non-functional product, and non-existent customer service. I also worry about the safety of a heating element running against a bone-dry wick for hours at a time. Thankfully, Amazon stepped in with a refund for one unit, but I’m left with several bottles of expensive oil and a stressed-out dog. I’ll be looking for a more reliable alternative.

We adopted a little guy a few years ago after we lost our other fur baby to heart failure. Anyway, the new one had been tragically mistreated and completely neglected in his life before he came home with us. He had been kept in a very small kennel, had never been outside, could barely use his legs, didn't know what it was to be petted and loved on because he was neglected so severely.....this poor guy was a mess. But I adopted him and all of his problems. I have never given up on a dog, but this one was the absolute worst case I had ever come across. I was afraid that he would never come around and be a loving companion. I was wrong. I came across these pheromone diffuser after I bought the pheromone calming collar and had SUPERB SUCCESS, so I bought this to accompany and enhance the effects of the collar. OH, MY GOODNESS. What an amazing transformation of my dog! It doesn't make him perfect, but he is completely different. He's not as skittish, not as nervous, scared, anxious and depressed. He sleeps so much better than without this. He still has trouble with loud scary noise, bugs, being alone. But for the most part, he's a completely different dog. With the aid of this pheromone diffuser, the calming collar and some edible items that help him with his behavior issues, he has become a loveable, snuggle Munchkin. I don't use any RX's because of the side effects that can happen. I appreciate the more natural remedies for issues that may arise in life. And he had issues. He still has some, and I think he always will, because he was so traumatized and mistreated in his early life. But he now accepts pets, he loves to be loved on, he's definitely a "VELCRO" dog! I am so thankful that I came across this product and decided to take a chance. I am sure it won't work for everyone's dog's needs, but if you have tried several different things and have had little success, it could behoove you to take a chance on this. Because if it does work, then you will be able to feel better about the quality of life your dog will have. I know that I do. I have faith that these pheromone products help him and when it's time for a new one, about 4 weeks, I can see a big difference in his behavior. So I replace it with a new one and within a few minutes, it begins working its magic and he begins settling down. I always have several of these and several of the calming collars on hand. I don't want to be without them because of the fact that they're working for my little fellow and anything that makes him happy and comfortable I want that for him. He had a terrible life before us and I want to do everything I can to help make sure he has the BEST LIFE EXPERIENCE he can have. And this diffuser and the collar are a part of our life now. I hope you give it a chance because it could be good for your dog too, and isn't that what we all want for our fur babies ❤️?

When I got my 15 pound havanese rescue dog he was very calm and happy. But after 2 weeks he started constantly barking scrilly at every little sound. So I bought everything I could to try to calm him down. This diffuser kit, (and the Thunder Shirt) were two of the many things I bought. But when the diffuser bottle ran out of oil and needed a refill, I didn't really notice anything different in my dog's behavior. So I really can't say it works.......... But the THUNDERSHIRT worked immediately, and very well. He went to sleep, as often happened when my prior dog put his on. It's very similar to a human sleeping under a heavy blanket.

AMAZING! I don't understand how this worked. I was at my wits end. At the start of June, I saw a post for a puppy mill mama, she is 4 years old, when I 1st saw her she was a skeleton with skin @ 6#s. She is tons better now but she refused to housebreak. She knew, would a few days, revert. I was frustrated. I thought maybe some aroma therapy. I asked AI in detail what essential oils to get & it returned a list of oils and also named this product. I decided to take the chance and buy it. It has only been a few days and she is going outside. When no one is home she first started holding it. She has never done that before yesterday. I hope this continues. I will keep buying as long as this keeps her housebroken. I logged on today to buy a defuser for a friend. Definitely 👍🏼

Two stars because it actually works. But after three days of being plugged in it started smoking and emitting visible vapor trails. According to FAQ this means possibly faulty product. So had to unplug. Just hope newly adopted dog doesn't revert without it.

This had the exact opposite effect on my dog. We rescued her from a dog hoarding situation at around 6 months old and she's scared of everything, has no boundaries and refuses to listen to commands when she's in one of her freak outs. She's crazy on a good day and I was really hoping this would help her relax and stop being so anxious and neurotic. I plugged it in and within an hour, she was running around the house, parkouring off every possible surface. My other animals were scurrying around in terror, trying to find a safe place where she wouldn't pounce them in her runs through the house. I thought maybe it was because it was windy outside, and she's scared of everything, so I left it plugged in. We endured 2 days of the little monster terrorizing us, our senior dog and cats, and chewing through anything she could get her jaws on. She didn't nap or sleep and she was on high alert almost constantly. I unplugged it this morning and she's had a lovely, mostly calm day, with a few minor bouts of insanity, pretty much back to normal almost immediately. I don't know if this does actually work for others, but for my gal's particular brand of mental illness, this wasn't effective AT ALL. Back to the drawing board in finding ways to keep her calm. Attaching a photo of my little Peanut, because she's cute as can be, when she isn't acting like my house is an obstacle course with edible pieces.

It’s supposed to be odourless but it smells burnt and smokes quite a bit! Turned out that it is really burnt. Not safe for use at all!!
