Marson 48001 Rivet Kit, Plastic

I purchased this kit to re install the inner fenders on my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The kit worked great! The rivet tool is great for a DIY but is not heavy duty for a full time auto or auto body shop. So far I have removed and replaced three inner fenders and used approximately 20 rivets and no problems at all. For the Jeep my rivet size was 48150 and I re ordered that size rivet for future work. The rivet tool should work well for me as may only re install the fenders less than 12 more times during the life of the vehicle.

I needed to replace the plastic rivets that secured the inner splash shields on my Grand Cherokee, so I purchased this kit. After installing six rivets, the rivet gun failed. The serrated finger that clamps against the rivet shaft when the handles are squeezed wouldn't grip properly, which meant that the rivet head wouldn't compress. I used conventional pliers to finish the install. I contacted Marson customer support about the situation. Their recommended solution: buy another rivet gun. I may be out of touch, but I don't consider a $30 tool disposable. Needless to say, I chose to purchase another brand (Dent Fix) that wasn't made in Taiwan.

Good to have when you need it

I would give it zero stars if I could, river setter does not work! No response from vendor to e-mail, thumbs-down. Rivets work okay with a different tool.
