Is this okay for a 4 year old or more geared for younger kiddos?

I think a four year old who likes trucks will love it. It is probably geared for 5 or 6 and under. I can see it being in kindergarden and first grade classrooms.

Absolutely not! My 3 year old (just turned 3 a few months ago) had trouble to start with (as he should with new challenges) and 2 weeks later he can do almost the whole thing by himself and LOVES it!

I think around 3 or 4 foot long by maybe 15 inches. It's a fabulous puzzle... I would totally recommend it!!!
