Especially when Wolf who does not get along with her horse bestie has to strike up a truce.Rian is also a very interesting and complex character, I really don't know what to expect from him at this point... I really enjoyed this book. The main characters are interesting and well fleshed out as well as both being likeable, and the writing is so well done and descriptive that I was completely immersed in Basten and Sabines world and could see it all playing out visually in my head. I really thought it was going to be my first 5 star book of this year but once they “got together” it turned into a bit of an overly graphic porn fest like so many other books recently. I’m all for a bit of spice but once the deed is done I don’t need any further couplings to include details of moisture levels and how much torque is required etc, it just gets repetitive and monotonous. Having said that, I am totally invested in the story and can’t wait for the next book at the end of February.

I really enjoyed the first book of the Godkissed Series. There was action, adventure, starcrossed lovers, and a morally grey character that I'm still trying to figure out. I'm hoping we get a 'why choose' in book two 🫣 It's currently giving me early TOG Dorian & Chaol vibes, but we'll see. The FMC is likeable and sweet with a ruthless side to her I hope we get more of as her character develops. It doesn't end on a cliffhanger which is good if there's more pressing books on your TBR, but I'm jumping right in!

I enjoyed falling into this story as I'd seen numerous other people review it. A woman with the power to converse with animals was certainly something I'd longed to see in a book . Sabine does not overuse her gift as the story progresses but oh lordy did I enjoy her mounts comments hehe ! I am left a bit stymied by the romance if honest although as this ends absolutely everything is up in the air and yet i hope Sabine will find her perfect match . Fun, entertaining and yes I'd like to read more.

Well what can I say, as soon as I started to read this book I was hooked could not put it down what a brilliant storyline I must recommend that you read the book for yourself I'm sure that you will agree with me. Great 👍 👌

I love retellings and this is such a good one. The world is so immersive, and written so richly. The forbidden romance and slow burn were immaculate. The magic is unique and immersive and whimsical. There wasn’t a second of this book that felt like filler, I absolutely devoured it because I was dying for more. Sabine is such an incredible character and her relationship with Bastien is complex, deep and so beautiful. I just really loved this book a lot, by far one of my favorite series of all time.

I normally never leave reviews but felt this book deserved one. This is the first book I have read from the author and thoroughly enjoyed her writing style. I was hooked from the first page and read til I finished. I enjoyed the concept of this book and found the MC’s quite entrancing.Very excited to read the 2nd book in this very enjoyable series!

Oh my freaking God, WHAT WAS THAT??? This book is simply amazing. It took me a while to truly get invested in the story, but once I did... oh I was in for an amazing treat!!This book has everything I love: a wonderful magic system, amazing enemies to lovers to enemies to lovers, and SPICEEEE! The story was so well constructed, we getting to know the characters, the world building, I truly loved it. Sabine is a wonderful character, with her tender heart but defiant personality.And that cliffhanger at the end?!?!?!?! Kill me now, please! I can't believe I have to wait 4 more months until the next book!!!Please read this.

I was in immediately and I’m glad I did because I had so much fun this this book!The horse is so much fun, I was cracking up and chuckling so much at their conversations. The ups: Epic. Intricate worldbuilding with godskissed magic granted to few (thus godskissed) people who're gifted or cursed with different abilities. Sabine's gift to speak with animals is unbelievable cute.Multilayered characters. I still can't decide wether I'm "only" impressed by Rian or actually like him.The downs: sometimes too epic, some weird dialogues and repetitive descriptions and this cliffhanger!(A map would be appreciated)
