Better than you would expect
I bought this with the intention of carrying it on the motorcycle. I often end up hanging out by a scenic lake or river and I would be so jealous of the folks on the water but didn't want to be restricted to my car to carry a kayak. This boat is way more durable than I expected and I can have it fully inflated and ready to go in around 15 minutes. I've already had it out three times and I've paddled several miles with my only complaint being the seat sitting a little low. The wind pulls it pretty easily but I also had no trouble paddling against it. I've never kayaked before but I was moving right along and felt very stable, even going over the wake from motorboats. This kit seriously comes with everything you need except for a lifejacket. I've only used it by myself so I cannot attest to it's two-up capabilities - I only got this model because I also hunt fossils and wanted plenty of space for my gear. Even if this only lasts me for this summer, I would have no problem buying a new one for next year. I feel like the fun I've already had with it has been worth the money.

Smart purchase.
I put it together to get used to everything before I get it to the lake..It was cheaper than the paddleboard I wanted. If I wanted a seat or extra two sided paddle i had to pay way more..this already came with 2 seat ! And 2 double sided ores. This purchase was a no brainer , plus if I go back to Louisiana from Utah I'll have my legs and feet safe inside the boat from the snakes and alligators.😆 I haven't got it into the water yet, but when I do ill try and do an update. Update!..6/30 took it out on the lake the material was extremely HOT it was a hot day but the material was burn your skin hot also when stepping into the kayak there is no support on the bottom so it feels like your foot is going to go through the material. I'm Average size and weight . The material that it's made of is flimsy more for kids in my opinion. I'm returning it and saving for something more substantial. Why did you pick this product vs others?:The reviews and the Accessories. The price point.

Turned out to be a great purchase. So convenient!
We are experienced Kayakers who have other hard sit on top and sit in kayaks. This was our first inflatable. For the price of admission, ours turned out to be a great purchase. We use it on vacation, so that we don’t have to carry our expensive kayaks on our vehicle for hundreds or thousands of miles, and worry about them getting stolen when we camp. We have used our Intex Explorer on the ocean inlet canals in Murrel’s Inlet, SC and it works great for that. Smooth water with some current. Our limit is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours before we feel cramped and need to take a break by getting out of the yak. I am 6’ and wife is 5’ 8”. This kayak is a little short for two people our sizes, but anything significantly longer is a lot more money so we make due. The Explorer K2 tracks well using the included skeg and when good paddling technique is used. When we paddle hard and fast in unison, it tracks very straight and is speedy enough. When letting off and ceasing all paddling, it will drift and the rear will start to swing out some. Not a big deal. The materials used seem durable enough for the price point. The only thing we really would like changed would be the inflation valves on the floor and on the front and rear bow and stern covers leave a little to be desired. They are the cheap little clear flip out valves like are used on inflatable pool toys. The other valves to inflate the sides the are the nice kind of valves that don’t let air escape when you pull the air pump out after inflating. Again, for the price point we figure they have to cut corners somewhere, and these are the areas they did. But all in all this is an amazing value for the money. We are done with set up and inflation using the included pump within 10-12 minutes, and deflation is even quicker. If we find we start using the Intex more and more, we may upgrade at some point to a longer (like 12-13 ft) inflatable kayak. If Intex made one, we’d buy it today. So if you want the convenience of a kayak you can take with you anywhere (comes with it’s own bag), and you want in for low cost, the Explorer K2 is a good way to go!
