A favorite among crochet hooks, the ergonomic Addi Swing Hooks have just a hint of flexibility, and fit right into the curve of the hand to allow for a more comfortable practice.

Easy on arthritic hands
One reviewer mentions they believe it's designed for those who hold hook like a knife - I hold mine like a pencil, and still feel the addi swing hook is quite helpful in easing stress on hands. It took me maybe an hour to adjust to the addi's design... After getting acclimated, I've noticed less hand motion is required to complete each stich - reducing that repetitive strain on your hand. It's overall comfortable to hold, though I'd like to see more of the soft grip portion and less of the hard plastic part. Also, as others have stated, the hook stem is rather short, but has not been an issue for me.

Good but the working end needs to be longer.
Love the handle. The hook/working end itself could be longer though. It's too short for me to do anything more than a single crochet or half double crochet stitch. Bobble stitches are out of the question when using anything larger than worsted weight and even worsted would be very challenging. Which is quite disappointing because I primary use the thicker yarns. So long story short unless u uses super tiny yarn with a 6 mm hook (and who does that) u may want to look elsewhere if u have more involved stitches. way too expensive to me to have to switch to a different hook for most of my projects to want to purchase more in other sizez. If they made the working end longer I would buy an entire set.

Not worth what I paid for it.
I bought this hook because I had heard great things about the brand and liked the shape of the handle and thought it would be great to use. It was amazing for the first project but I was using a very delicate yarn, but after that was finished I started on a new project using a 4ply cotton and after the first row or two I kept hearing a ticking noise every time I stitched. I think the hook is starting to fall out. I only have maybe 10-15 hours of use out of it. I do have to replace 3.5mm hooks usually once a year because I rub the silicon off the cheaper ones, but it seems much cheaper to pay $3-5 for one and use it a year than $10-15 and use it for one project.

The Best Hook
The Addi Swing hooks are now my go-to hooks. Super easy to hold, no hand cramping, and my stitches are tighter and consistent.

Great Quality, doesn't fit my hand. I'm knife style
I purchased 3 size L 8mm hooks. Oh I love HiyaHiya crochet hooks and 9" circular knitting needles (socks, sleeves etc) I hate stitching projects together. I religiously use tulip crochet hooks but they aren't available larger than 6.5mm. And these HiyaHiya are a dream to my hand. I received a navy blue L,8mm, my favorite color blue!!! I also ordered Knitters Pride Dreams hook L, 8mm. These are exactly the same to me except the wood dreams is a tad lighter, no difference to me. The Dreams doesn't slide as fast at first. By the 1st row it was flying like the HiyaHiya. Both top notch quality!! Now I love Addi (skacel) knitting needles but the handle on the crochet hook causes my forearm to hurt after 10 stitches. (I have L 8mm, D and another ). No matter the size they hurt. I'm a upper hand?-knife? Style crochet handed. I see today the problem is the handle is too long for my palm and finger to fit correctly. I have a medium size hand. I rated a 4 bc it's fabulous quality. I think a woman with a long hand or a man will fit and find the addi swing fabulous. Skacel, please make a shorter handle and send it to me to test for short hands.

Knife grip only...
I’m having a bit of a love/hate relationship with this hook.Let me break it down...The Handle: The design of the handle is what made me want to try it. I mostly use the knife grip, and it’s definitely the easiest handle on my hand and wrist I’ve ever used. It’s light weight and well formed, if slightly too long for me-but I do wear child sized gloves, so that’s more of a personal problem.Hook: The metal hook glides well in all the types of yarn I’ve used it with, although I do prefer the “glide feel” from my Clover Soft and Tulip Etimo. There is a slight taper to the hook, but it’s not extreme which I enjoy. Haven’t had any snagging issues. The one BIG irritation is the shortness of the hook before the handle. It’s a PITA if you’re going to try to do any type of stitch with multiple loops kept on the hook, or very long stitches. An extra half inch of hook would make such a difference and I’d buy the entire set.Either way, I will probably buy a couple more in my more used sizes just for the comfortable handle.

not the quality I expect from addi
I had all but the largest two hooks in this set. This is the 8mm, and I'm glad I don't use heavy yarn very often. All my other hooks had very smooth hooks and soft silicone on the handle. The hook is in rough shape. It had to be cleaned and is not as smooth as all my other hooks. The silicone is so hard it might as well not be there. The differences are so extreme I really wondered if I was getting a knock off. Disappointed.

I wanted Maxi but fit the regular one. The maxi had a long shank. These all 3 had regular shank
I wanted aMaxi size hook. I already had the shortened ones. They don't work for me. I need the Maxi shaft. I'm still considering if I should return the last 4 hooks. I searched for Maxi, not regular. I should know better than to trust Amazon. I can't return them because you just want to send me the same ones. Maybe you need train you pickers better. I really wanted the Maxi hooks. You can tell from my account that I shop Amazon aļot. My daughters even use your service. But i guess you can afford to lose my business. It's nothing to your big corporation. But word of mouth travels. And I'm going to make sure my opinion is heard my everyone I can tell. And me addi maxi hooks. I don't mind having both but I need the maxi fit the crocheting I do. Lots of stitches on my hook that won't fit on a regular shank. I need the addi swing hook for my arthritic hands.
