We picked up two Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite kits, and I honestly wish we’d done it sooner. Setup was super easy—so easy, I had my 14-year-old do one of them. No complaints, no confusion, just plug, stick, and sync. Once it’s on? Game-changer. The colors are bright, smooth, and react in real-time, especially in darker rooms. Whether we’re watching a movie or getting into some late-night gaming, it makes everything feel way more immersive. It’s one of those upgrades you didn’t know you needed until it’s on—and then you can’t imagine going back. Also, the Govee app gives you full control to customize the vibe—bright action scenes, cozy ambiance, or just flexing cool colors behind the TV. If you’re on the fence, grab one. Actually… grab two.

The kit comes with everything you may need to install. I used this on a 43” LG TV (UT75 Series LED, Model #43UT7590PUA) and it worked/fit great with no issues. The TV has limited space on the rear left (if facing screen) but it fits there with no issues and looks/performs perfect. Installation was a breeze and required no extra tools. I installed it while the the TV was mounted to a (full-motion) wall mount - I considered taking the TV off the wall for easier installation but I had zero issues with it being mounted while I installed the kit.I was surprised* how customizable everything once was downloading the app. I won’t be using it on “video” mode all that often, but it works well. The initial calibration took some time as the image showed up "broken" and I had to refresh it quite a few times - but once you calibrate it the first time you will not have to do it again. It’s got a ton of effect / theme options but you can also customize the solid light modes greatly in different regions - not just the colors but also the brightness of each region. I was impressed with all the options and ability to save themes you create.I’d definitely recommend this product if you’re looking for your first kit or to replace an older or dingy looking kit. This one looks great and doesn’t make the rear of the TV look tacky. The only change I would make would be to include some additional hardware to take care of any slack wire at the corners but that’s only noticeable from wide side angles and easy to fix yourself with any adhesive strips or electrical tape, etc. (it came with 2 spare clips and some spare double sided adhesive tape).TLDR; This is a fantastic high quality backlight with a ton of customizable features and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a backlight.* EDIT: I edited my review to fix a spelling mistake.

The first one we received was a dud. It initially connected fine, calibrated alright, etc. but as soon as we went to actually use it after the set up, it was just wonky. The colors were extremely dim and only part of the lights would work. Seemed as though there was a short somewhere.However, we reached out to Govee directly for their quick replacement in the app, and they sure were quick! They replied and asked us to do a few troubleshooting steps (which we already did, but appreciated the information nonetheless in case it was a quick fix cause you never know), and when nothing worked, they sent us a new one right away! They didn't even ask for the old one back, just said to toss it. Awesome customer service which reassures us we are investing in the right brand, and will continue purchasing products from Govee!Now that we have the new one, it has been GREAT! The colors as so vibrant, and when the screen is dark the lights go off. It really helps make your area more of a home theatre. Really easy to set up, and very customizable. The only complaint I have is regarding the camera. It doesn't really secure to the top of the screen. We have our TV mounted, and it tilts forward a little bit, so getting the camera to be properly positioned & stay put can be a bit of a challenge.

These Govee lights really enhance the viewing experience and add a great atmosphere to the room. Once installed, the color-syncing behind the TV works surprisingly well and makes movies, shows, and games feel more immersive.The lights respond accurately to what’s on screen, and the app offers plenty of customization options for brightness, effects, and color modes. I also like the flexibility of using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi depending on your setup.The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the installation could be improved slightly. The adhesive works, but it took some effort to get the strips positioned correctly, and I had to reposition one corner which weakened the grip a little. Including extra adhesive clips or stronger backing would make the process smoother.Aside from that, the quality and performance are excellent. Once everything is in place, the lights perform just as advertised. The colors are vibrant, the build feels solid, and the app is reliable.Overall, I definitely recommend these lights if you want to upgrade your entertainment setup. Just take your time with the installation for the best results.

The Govee 3 Lite really impressed me with its versatility — it's not just limited to camera-based color matching, but also offers ambient modes like music sync and scene presets, which I found great for relaxation and meditation. Installation was easy, and the camera sits firmly on top of my thin TV. The colors are vivid and responsive, making movies and games feel more immersive. It's just 2 days of use, so I can’t comment on the lifespan or adhesive quality yet, but it looks solid so far — will update if anything changes.
