These are excellent value for money and definitely a much better choice than anything with a naked flame. The end has two terminals and when activated they allow a spark to jump between them allowing you to light a candle. In fact I’ve also used one to start our log burner so I’d say they’re easily a replacement for the other type with a naked flame. You have to switch them on initially and then hold down an activation button to get the spark. That means it stops the instant you release the button, so if you drop it it’s not going to be starting any fires accidentally. There’s some heat left in the terminals but it dissipates very quickly.The two I received were fully charged out of the box, so I haven’t needed to charge them as yet so I’m not sure how long a single charge will last, but it’s a standard usb connector so there are no issues with finding the correct plug. For the price of £6 each they’re a genuine bargain: they’re very solidly made and feel like a quality product when you’re holding them. I particularly like the bendable neck which allow you to position the lighter end correctly. If you’re lighting a candle that you have to reach for you can bend the neck into a hook shape rather than have to angle your wrist. As the spark jumps across the gap in the terminals you also don’t have the issue you get with naked flames, that they always point vertically, which sometimes means away from the thing you’re wanting to light.I highly recommend them and would say that they really are a genuine bargain for the price.

These electric lighters are simply sensational and raise the confidence in having lighters in the home with children. Unlike a match (that can be dropped or not fully extinguished when discarded) or a lighter (too quick to light something) the fact you have to hold the part you want to light for a few seconds while depressing the button to get the electrical charge gives me confidence in the home with kids about.There is a lock button to stop accidental pressing and it is so satisfying seeing the electrical charge emit and take a couple of seconds on a candle wick.You also dont have the issue risking burning yourself when having to tilt the lighter to lite something.The fact you get two of these is even better - and rechargeable.Amazing product!

There were 2 lighters in a pack and they're rechargeable. It is easy to use, with a single press of the button. It is easily portable and can packed in your travel bags as well.The stem is flexible and is safe to use. The blue lights indicate how much charge is being left.

I'm super impressed with this electric lighter - it's very clever. I used it to light candles and it really works and I found it easy to use without reading instructions first. Upon reading a few reviews from customers in other European countries a couple report it to be a bit fiddly but I completely disagree. I like the display on the front with lights that show you how well charged it is and when it's ready for charging up and the the neck part is very bendable. I will definitely be using this instead of boxes of matches or a traditional lighter.

A no nonsense lighter with usb c charging cables supplied. The battery indicator is 4 blue LEDs.The power switch is a slider. Up is on, down is off.The trigger is a round dot next to the slider. It is very long which allows you to keep a distance. An even bigger distance when you consider the gooseneck. This allows you a good angle to point down into tall candles.Best feature: auto off. The slider left in on position means one trigger is all it takes to turn on and zap. Fire risk mitigation by a timer, which switches off the trigger until you slide off and then on again.Very happy it's a two pack, one upstairs and one downstairs!

I really like these lighters, they are safe to use with no naked flame.The bendable stem makes them easy to use for candle lighting especially if the candle has burnt down. They charge up from a usbC port and charge quickly and last a long time.These are really good quality and very well made.I would reccomend these.

This is a reasonably priced pack of two compact-handled arc lighters. The lengthy, flexible swan-neck design of the lighters is useful for things like getting in to jar candles (particularly when they’ve been used quite a bit and are awkward to light with matches). The lighters have locking and ignition buttons, a much safer design than versions without locks, which can accidentally be triggered and should not be stored loose in a drawer with outer miscellaneous items.These work effectively, and the electric sparker is easier for starting barbecues and bonfires than regular matches/lighters which can all too easily be extinguished accidentally. The lighters have built in hanging loops for storage. The set comes with two short length USB-A to USB-C chargers. At the inexpensive £11.99 price point for the set of two, I had expected to find older style micro-USB connectors (we have far fewer of these in the house now!), so the fact that they share plugs with most other recent devices is a bonus.
