this cd has all tom jones great songs on it. i love hearing these songs again.

Sir Tom Jones has had a long highly successful career and thankfully he shows no signs of slowing down and has kept his incredible voice, age cannot wither him! Here on this Greatest Hits album, you get a good overview of his amazing career that now spans an incredible six decades. It’s a whistle stop tour from the 1960’s with hits like "It's Not Unusual" to a variety of his collaborations with younger artists taking us into his 2000 dance thump of "Sexbomb." But a quick glance at the track list will tell you that most of the required standards are here, so this is a good way to get a quick overview of this Welsh balladeer and see why he has had such great success and longevity.

I am due to see Tom Jones with the Stereophonics in December. I know of Tom Jones of course, especially being an Elvis fan, but never bought any of his records. This is a good place to start, concentrating on the old classics and moving on to the start of the more modern era. I think Tom Jones has probably got better as he has got older. I think he was a bit of stereo-typical "macho" man character in his earlier days. Also I think some of his later music is probably more consistent with his music roots in comparison to the range of cheesy pop from his earlier career. He grew up on rock 'n' roll, blues and gospel, so he claims. Yet his early hits seemed bit "Burt Bacharach" for my taste, and almost out-date even when they first came out. But, you can't deny the quality of his voice, even if both Roy Orbison and Elvis were better and had more of a timeless quality with their music. You can't quite stop yourself from toe tapping to "It's Not Unusual" and "Help Yourself", having a giggle at "Delilah" and "What's New Pussycat". I may move on to pick up more of his more recent work.

All the hits you need from Tom Jones. Bought for my 2.year old for the car as he absolutely loves Tom Jones. Great purchase.

I recently watched a documentary on Sir Tom and was reminded of how great a singer he was and is. Yet, I have never owned a Tom Jones recording other than my parents having a 45 of the green, green grass of home in the 1960's, and hearing his songs on Top of the Pops and the radio way back when. So, I am not disappointed with this collection. And some more recent material as well, all sung with that memorable Jones style. Recommended!

若い頃良く聴いたTillを聴きたくて探していたところ、TOM JONESのこのCDに辿りつきました。 サビからの歌い出しは、この曲をより素晴らしいものにしていました。 かっては歌ではなくベルトケンプフェルトバンド演奏でした。 TOM JONESのディライラ等のヒット曲もあり楽しんでいます。

Tom Jones hatte ja vor etlichen Jahren (Jahrzehnten ?) schon einmal fast alle seine Hits völlig neu eingespielt und total verfremdet. Wer will denn sowas hören? Greatest Hits sind immer etwas für echte Fans. Und die mögen's noch nicht mal irgendwie digital bearbeitet. Die echten Sachen! Von früher! Wie hier auf dieser CD. Wobei auch die Stücke nicht fehlen, die er in den Achtzigern und Neunzigern mit bekannten Künstlern zu Riesenhits gemacht hat ("Sexbomb“ zum Beispiel, u.a.m.). Tolle Scheibe, Bestzustand, prompte Lieferung. Schönen Dank !
