This platter has a nice vintage look to it, without the potentially high costs of a vintage platter. I recently saw a similar one at a flea market for an insane price, so I picked this up instead. This does not include a dome or lid, and I don't need one, but it makes a cute display piece. I've used this for everything from cakes, pies, cookies, etc. to as a riser for a buffet type set up. This is just high enough, without being too high, I can stack a couple together for storage, and fit things around them. It's a nice weight, not too heavy, doesn't feel fragile though. I've washed it by hand so far, but I don't mind, it just wipes right off.The color is consistent throughout, there's no blobs or swirls like some other platters I've seen. While amber is not my favorite color, it is a good color for year round use, and since a lot of my dishes are neutral colors, I like the pop of color this helps bring. I put my cakes on a cake board, it makes it easier to slide what's left into a storage container, and I don't have to worry about wiping up frosting when I decorate the cake, I just pop it onto this when I'm done. Cute holder, you can decorate around it, or just use it to help squeeze a couple more things onto the table if needed.

This Amici Rochester Footed Cake Stand is just wonderful. It is so pretty and goes wonderful with our love of mid-century modern glass. It has a beautiful pattern and the amber glass color is fantastic. It is so elegant and timeless. It is a wonderful gift idea for someone who loves fine glass pieces or likes to bake. It's wonderful for both cakes and pies. A lovely showpiece that would be great for both formal and casual table settings. Also, my mother just adores it. Highly recommended for your home!

This is a very cute cake stand... One of the cutest I've seen at this price range if I'm being honest. This would be a very cute addition to a housewarming gift-basket kind of thing. It also gives a pop of color to buffets too! It doesn't come with a lid, but you can prob pick one up at the thrift store or online.

I kept receiving cakes / cookies / treats to distribute from my desk a the office, and was fed up with having everything directly on my desk, and having to announce to colleagues that something is available.. .NOW the problem is solved, and rather elegantly too! The glass stand is sturdy, pretty and practical - not too much to say other than the fact that it is as pictured from the original listing and its ... recommended!

This is a really nice beautiful cake stand. I am really enjoying it. It is really classy with the fluted pedestal base and a diamond pattern under the plate. The amber colored glass really pops. Besides being really beautiful it is also very practical. The fluted base is easy to grab and hold when moving the cake stand. The diamond pattern also provides a sure grip of the plate. It is very sturdy and substantial. I think it would make a great gift!

I love bright, colorful things, and this cake plate did not disappoint! I absolutely love the detailing and color. It is a rich, golden amber color, and it's definitely glass, so be careful. The plate part is completely smooth, the detailing is all on the underside. I would recommend hand washing it, like the sticker suggests. I used this for Thanksgiving, and my pumpkin pie that I made looked even more impressive on it. It doesn't have a lid, but since it's more about presentation than preserving your dessert, I don't think one is necessary. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

While I don't want to fault the company entirely on a product that could have broken in any part of the shipping phase, it does seems as if it is on the chintzy side. It's made up of that heavier glass that feels somehow off, somewhere between glass and plastic. Glue was used to attach the base to the plate. Sadly, I can't give it more than 2 stars as a result of poor manufacturing.

This cake stand is medium thickness. The glass is sturdy enough. Where the plate and stand meet is not out together well. It looks like they were glued together and the glue did not hold up during shipping. I will have to find a way to join the top and bottom or it is useless. The plate is really wobbly and will fall off with minimal jostling without being secured to the stand. The color is pretty and it is pretty detailed. The manufacturer needs to find a better way to join the plate and stand part.
