Great product, easy to use, INCREDIBLE customer service.
We got this printer for my daughter for her birthday. When it arrived, the door was broken. Aoseed replaced the entire unit promptly. The second printer was perfect, and we loved using it. Unfortunately we've had some problems with the print head clogging. However, I think some of the time the problem was that the filament was wrapped around itself on the spool and wouldn't feed properly. Still not sure. After some troubleshooting, Aoseed sent me a new print head that was very easy to install--2 screws and done. It worked well for a while but then had some software problems. I might be butchering this explanation, but it was essentially a faulty motherboard. Once again, I sent the unit back and got a brand new replacement. It is working perfectly, and my son is currently printing collapsible katanas for his fidget shop at the school craft fair. It's amazing the things you can print with the X-Maker. WE LOVE IT!

3 printers and all have broken within weeks
I’ve had 3, they’ve all broke within a month. First, I want to say that this is definitely a kid-friendly or beginner friendly printer. It’s easy to set up and use. But that’s about it. All 3 of these we bought had the same 2 issues, but only one of them you can’t fix easily and can possibly break the print head. During some projects, I’m not sure what happens, but it seems like the filament doesn’t stick to the object as it’s printing. What ends up happening is a pile of interwoven filament that looks like a pile of overcooked thin spaghetti noodles ends up taking over the entire inside if you’re not watching it. Next, the filament will get stuck in the print head during printing and nothing will come out. The machine doesn’t know so it keeps going on with the project. But the worst part is once this happens there’s nothing you can do to pull the stuck filament out. It’s literally concreted in there. I did everything recommended by their help articles: heated it up to try and soften the filament, tried to remove the collar (but it broke) to pull out the tube (tube won’t come out), literally nothing worked. So the filament is stuck, therefore renders the machine inoperative. Once this happens you can either replace the entire print head or kiss this machine goodbye (along with the $400+). Their customer support is no help. They responded to the first few emails but once I told them I did everything they suggested, they ghosted. Their Facebook group was no help either, no one responds. I’ve wasted a ton of filament during this process. We’ve tried different kinds, different colors, even from different brands - same results.

Fun for all.
Fun 3D printer for kids. Prints well, not professional quality but for kids it is great. Good value for the money. Does take a while to print. Easy to use and set up.

It’s ok for basic prints, but better options are out there for comparable prices.
I usually don’t write reviews, but seeing that this is a big purchase I felt that more insight for parents or people unfamiliar with 3D printing that are looking into this product could help you make better decision. Pros: - Quick to set up. - Decent build quality and overall look. - X maker and X print apps are pretty straightforward and can be figured out easily with just some clicking around. Cons: - Misleading information regarding being “level free.” - You do need to manually calibrate in the beginning and occasionally with regular use if you want fair quality prints. - You can only load .stl files into X print. - Misleading information regarding compatibility with other slicer software e.g. bambu studio or orca slicer. - Slow print speed. - Value - For the same comparable price you can get a better intro printer if you’re fine with forgoing the “kid focused” aesthetic and software. Overall, this printer does print things decent enough if you’re not overly concerned about having the best print quality. My son loved it right out of the box and we were able to get printing quickly, but with the slow print speeds you are going to be waiting a decent time for figures. Print quality on small figures are kind bleh and if you’re making anything with multiple parts that are meant to fit in very low tolerances then you might not be successful every time because of what seems like lower accuracy. Print in place objects have typically done well for us. I really started to notice major limitations when printing certain things on their X maker app like the lucky 13 robot which has multiple parts with small clips and press fitting. Tweaking some settings in X print does help, but the options are limited compared to Bambu studio. I was very tempted to return this product, but seeing as my son is very young and was generally happy with the successful prints I decided to keep it and let him grow and learn with this. I have a Bambu Labs A1 for myself which I got after messing with this printer for a little because it got me interested and figured that it was necessary to make more complex things. At the end of day it’s a good product for young kids, but if you’re kid is older and if you as the parent have an interest in trying it out yourself then you’re way better off getting something like the Bambu labs A1 or A1 mini with the mini being cheaper than this with better quality prints and direct access to Bambu studios which is awesome.

Super fun for the whole family
This is a kid friendly 3D printer that is easy to use even for lower elementary school kids. I would recommend you skip the Joy maker and go for this printer as the Joy maker has very limited features and you are unable to design your own prints. This printer is simple to use but mighty in functions. Highly recommend.

Cheap and not what you think it will be
Don’t buy - 100% not what you expect. Update - seller requested more info. Issues are as follows: (1) The printer itself feels less substantial than I anticipated (for the $$). Cheap plastic (2) The app that is used to design or send pre-designs is very buggy/ takes much starting and restarting to initiate a print. It seems to have issues with storing profiles. It also isn’t what you’re expecting if you think it will teach your kids how to design things. As an adult, I can’t figure this app out. At best, your kids will pick some designs and ask you to figure out how to get them printed. (3) The 3d models shown in the advertisements and the app are not what is printed because the printer only supports 1 color at a time. Have no idea how to make a multi color 3d object and haven’t found any guidance online. (4) this isn’t a big issue, but it takes a lot longer than you’re expecting. Small objects (2 inches high) will require 3-4 hours. Any of the pre-designs will need to be done overnight.
