I got this for my 4 year olds stocking. It is purely as a toy for someone who doesn't understand how it works. He absolutely loves it. It is heavy and he loves the case for putting on his belt. Not sure if it is accurate or not.

While this compass did make the perfect gift for a traveling loved one, I was a little let down by the product that arrived at my door. The compass itself works great and looks fantastic, the quote on the reverse side is another story. The writing isn't centered with the top of the compass, giving it a crooked look when hanging from the necklace. Also, the brass on the reverse side was visibly scratched up making the quote more difficult than necessary to read.

Great great great item perfect for a wedding anniversary gift. Love the saying engraved on back.
