Phenomenal product- Must buy!
Oh my god where do I begin?? My girlfriend and I love to cook & the stove buddy has been an amazing addition to our kitchen set up. Living in an apartment cooking steak, chicken, and shrimp is not only tasty but it can be tricky. The smell of cooking and the noise of our smoke detector always going off are huge downsides that get in the way of our delicious dinner. If you’ve lived in an apartment, you know the oven fans only do so much. Are you tired of frantically waving a towel around your smoke detector? Or waking up the next morning smelling the remnants of cooking chicken thighs? Well, so were we until discovered the lightweight, easy to handle must have kitchen appliance, the stove buddy. Say goodbye to those cooking odors and say hello to a nice fresh kitchen.

front filter melts
i wanted this to be good after reading all the reviews... after getting it and using it, several flaws immediately stand out (bear in mind, this IS a $80 fan... so it should be top of the line IMO)1. it does not swivel or tilt, or adjust at all. this means you have to twist the whole thing around all the time. have a "high" pot? too bad, put the fan on top of a bowl and balance everything on your stove...2. the power cord is a joke. move the fan to adjust it, and the thing turns off because the cord falls out.3. the power button is a joke. smash it for 20 seconds to turn on, barely touch it to switch modes, barely touch it to turn off again (now youre fighting to turn it back on while cooking, fun).4. the "modes" are kind of a joke. "low" doesnt "do" anything, medium is basically high. high should be faster than it even is. you have to put this thing right next to your pan to suck up the vapors.5. then entire thing is made of Plastic.... even the front most mesh filter. well, guess whats already starting to melt! yup, that filter. guess whats next... probably the rest of it. plastic + heat = no good.6. the screens are def a joke. the first one is thin plastic with no "ring" around it, so whenever you try and clean your filters, that first one will never sit right because its also too small... and melted. Next is the "carbon" filter, which looks like a thin old rag that a fly can easily cruise through. you only get ONE of these for your $80 purchase btw...being returned, and other options are now being explored.

Too ba.
This thing seems to be built pretty solid. I think the filter system should be revamped 200%! If it truly worked as an exhaust fan it would be the best.I have a no exhaust kitchen or window in my apartment. If I’m searing a steak the smoke is too much for the units filter if that’s what it’s called. The motor and controls seem powerful but when it sucks in bad air it moves it through it so the bit it captures comes right back out! Doesn’t remove smoke or cooking smells. Fire alarnm

Gigantic and.... good, I guess?
At first, I wanted to see if I could use this as ventilation for my laser engraver. That quickly proved impossible, since this thing is bigger than a coffeemaker, and its intake area is way too elevated to effectively suck up any noxious fumes, which tend to cling to the table level. So, personal mission failed - but that's on me. Next, we tried it in the kitchen. It takes up a lot of counter space, and because it has to be so close to the pan, it easily becomes spattered with grease, which is probably to be expected, but it's one more thing to clean. It has three speeds which are activated by a flat button on the top of the device, but your finger has to cover the button to activate it... so it's not always easy to tell if you're turning it on, especially because it kind of ramps up slowly. When it IS on, it emits a pretty noticeable hum.Ultimately, if you have ventilation over your stove, you probably will not need this. It didn't seem to collect the airborne oil from making a steak or prevent all associated odors more than normal. You can definitely feel the breeze this puts off, but I'm just not sure what the intended outcome is after using this.

Awesome Product!
If you have smoke, odor, and grease problem when cooking, this is for you.I had this for a little bit now, and it’s amazing. My vent under my microwave has been broken for quite some time and I needed to find an alternative fast rather then spending a ton of money to get a repair or a new microwave. This product really does work and it’s saved my apartment from smelling like food.My microwave range hood is basically useless and the stove buddy solved my problem. Not only does it take away the smoke, but the odors too! Fan is pretty powerful fan but it’s also not loud. I can go on. It’s Easy to clean, and the filters are reusable.Just a great product all around.

Second one i’ve purchased. I LOVE THIS THING!
I love this thing so much I had to buy two! First purchase was through their website and then amazon. I live in a small apartment where the smell of whatever I cook lingers for dayssss. Bacon, burgers, it even worked for my soup last night. Im continuously impressed by how many uses it has. It sucks up the smoke and steam from whatever you’re cooking and there is no excess residue or anything that leaks onto your stove or walls. The grease collects in this little cup in the back. I removed and cleaned my filters on the first one and it works just as well. Seriously recommend this! Its super easy to use, its good looking and a good size especially for a small space like mine.

Does not filter out much smell
This fan is powerful enough but it doesn't really filter out any smells. I use it with a door open so that the smell can exit the kitchen but the smell is still pretty strong. not what i was looking for but it helps a bit in the kitchen to clear up smoke.
