Excellent dehumidifier (so far).
We live in an extremely humid area. We have used standard consumer type dehumidifiers in the past, but they always seem to break down within 3-5 years. We got tired of replacing them, so decided to try something more expensive that is designed for more heavy duty use. Since this is designed for crawl spaces, we thought this might be a good choice for the inside of our home. While this does not affect the rating for this unit, I do have to mention that delivery was terrible. This is very heavy, and I heard and felt the "thump" when it hit the porch. Looking at my Ring doorbell, I saw they basically dropped it onto the porch. Not only that, it was upside down, despite the warnings on the box to keep it upright! Luckily, the unit does not seem to have suffered any ill effects from the abuse it took during shipping/delivery.The first thing I did was to turn the unit upright, and allow it to sit for 24 hours to let the Freon settle. Failure to do so can introduce air bubbles into the line which can cause problems with the compressor. Similar to an air bubble in a vein when it gets to the heart.I made sure to message the seller/manufacturer about the delivery, and they sent me specific instructions about startup to insure there were no issues. After installing the drain hose, I plugged it in, and set the humidity at 20%. This caused the unit to run continuously so we could test it was working properly. At the time it was started, the room temp was 78° at 61% humidity. It took around 1/2 an hour for us to see water start to trickle from the drain hose. 6 hours later, the humidity was at 53%, and got stuck there for the next 2 days. When the humidity finally hit our preferred level at 50%, we changed the set point to 47%. That has been keeping an approx. 1800 sq. ft. space at an average of 50% for almost 2 weeks now.Be advised, this unit has no collection bucket, or pump. It has a gravity drain only, so you need to elevate the unit at least a few inches off the ground, and run the hose to a floor drain or outside (or external pump if you have one ie. sump pump). The hose they provide is quite long, but can be cut to length. However, it is on the thin side, and can be crushed easily. This is my only negative with this unit. The drain is a simple push on type, and does not have a screw-on garden hose connector. I would prefer to use a garden hose as it is stronger, and will not crush if stepped on. I have passed this suggestion on to the seller. This dehumidifier has been running now for almost 2 weeks, and it is working flawlessly. Our home is much more comfortable, and it feels like the A/C is not working as hard. That could just be the optimist in me talking though, as I have no hard facts to back that up. This unit does take up more floor space than others we have had, but it's worth it if it continues to keep us comfortable. The 2/5 year warranty is also reassuring.I do want to mention that the seller/manufacturer has been extremely responsive. They have provided us with recommendations that have been very helpful. They respond to questions quickly and with detailed answers. I can't speak more highly of their customer support. It gives me reassurance they will be there if there are any problems in the future.

Dehumidifies my 25’ x 50’ x8’ basement
First impression is this unit (145 pint no pump) works just fine with no issues.Per other comments and suggestions I raised it on a wood box I happened to have about 12” above the floor. The drain to the floor is about 36” and I have had no leaking issues. My basement was about 70% humidity now it’s holding at around 50% . They call it relative for a reason but I know it’s close. At first I ran a fan next to the unit to circulate the air but once I got it down to 50% in the middle of my space I figured out that setting the rh on the unit to 43 would bring the whole basement to my desired 50%. It took about a week to bring the basement down to 50%. I think that a lot of moisture was in my slab , walls and wood I have stored in the room. It’s much more comfortable now even though the temperature is around 75f.I’m waiting for my electric bill to reflect what this is going to cost me but I’m hoping my extensive tool collection is better protected from corrosion with this device. The only gripe is the plastic collar that is tucked away inside the machine. When I went to mount it wouldn’t sit flush because of a round head screw that protrudes from the mounting surface. I replaced the screw with a flat head style and now it sits flush . No big deal, it was just wrong! The other gripe is I had to wait 24 hours because if the unit was stored upside down the oil might drain from where it was needed shortening the life of the unit. I really wanted to get it going but I had to wait a full day.Again a minor thing.I don’t know if I’ll ever use the vent capability with this unit, it seems wrong to vent dry air out of the room. Even if it’s warmer it’s dry. The air has to be replaced from somewhere. Most likely air that’s higher in moisture so you defeating your objective. Better to have a neutral or pressurized room than one with negative pressure I think. If I can I will let you know my electric bill in a month or so.

Nice 👍
So far so good ! This unit is super quiet and does what’s its supposed to! I own many buildings , garages and houses. I personally currently own 2 Santa fe commercial dehumidifiers and this Moiswell basement type dehumidifiers and several smaller in home type units , comfort for me is a must ! It’s very humid in TN ! Me and my family build large custom homes and small commercial projects in the Knox, Gatlinburg ,Blount , Sevier co. TN area . We use many of the Santa Fe commercial units in the homes we build in crawl spaces but there almost 3 times the price of the Moiswell unit ( for me and my team this is kind of a test to see how long this unit works ) . I’m impressed at this time , but time will tell! I’d say give it a try based on what I’ve seen at this point . It’s quiet , I love the detailed controls on the side and it looks nice also ! ( not that looks mean anything for something like this ) it also seams very energy efficient. This unit is in a very upscale garage with a lot of very nice tools and automobiles. So dry , nice smelling , mold and mildew prevention is a must . The size of the unit is not bad at all . I’d say it’s good value for the price ! I have this unit hard piped outside so there are no leaks at all . 👍👍
