Comprehensive
It's a look from before "Old Number One" to the Chinese owned MG cars that we won't see in the USA. It's fine but I like the period from WW2 to 1980. I preferred the other book MGB The Superlative MG. However, this book had photos and information that was new to me despite owning other MG books. It does have a long section of the various MG badged cars from after the Abington plant closed in 1980.

Wonderful book for any MG fan.
Great photos, well written, current history up to date. A must for all of us MG fans. Yes, there is some repetition of material from the author's earlier book.

Cool coffee table book for car/MG enthusiasts
First, I'm not an MG expert, so rating the factual accuracy of this book isn't something I can comment on too much. The little bit I do know about them matches, but that's not saying much. However, after reading this book I know a lot more than I used to. It has a lot of really good information in it about the history of the company, the cars, it's exactly what you want in a book like this. Most people that know about MG in the US only know about the MGB, and maybe the MGA, but the company produced cars long before then, and still produces cars today, albeit under ownership based in China. This book covers the whole range of production (at least until the publishing date obviously). In addition to the information in the text, it also has all the pictures that you want in a nice "coffee table book" like this. Someone (including you) can pick it up and either read to get information, skim, look at pictures, or anything in between and it'll look right at home on a car person's coffee table. The quality of the physical book is also really nice. It's hardcover with a nice solid cover, it's not flimsy and has some tasteful embossing on it. The paper quality is what you would expect from a really nice book like this. Thick pages with a semi-gloss finish, nice clear printing, the pictures look bright and vivid (if they're in color, this covers well before color photos, and the printing on the old photos is great as well). So as far as that goes, definitely no complaints at all.Overall this is great for any car enthusiast. Well, maybe not the ones that are loyal to a single company and think every other automaker sucks, but every other car enthusiast will enjoy this book.

Perfect Coffee Table Book
Covering a century of Morris Garage (MG) history, cars, and trivia - it is chock full of color photos, exciting reading, and a beautiful size and color that will stand out in your family room or on your bookshelf. My first project car was an MGB - and these are covered - in addition to many more models that never made it to the States. A great read or gift for those interested in these fun, easy-to-work-on (constantly) cars.
