Amazon Basics 8-Sheet High Security Cross Cut Paper and Credit Card Shredder with P-4 Security, Auto Shut-off, Black

I purchased at least 10 shredders from all different brand in the past and have spent thousands of dollars. I had to shred at least 500 boxes of 10 ream size paper boxes since we were going digital . The average price was $79 all the way to $500. Some shredder automatically fed paper sheet per sheet, some shredder minced the paper, some shredder shred the paper crisscross, some shredded the paper course size. All broke down within six months to 3 years . I decided to purchase the Amazon brand to add to my collection of broken shredders . I am thinking if I can get a year out of it, it would be great. Surprisingly, this shredder has been one of the best shredder to date in terms of overall functionality . The price is decent, it can literally shred nonstop. The paper shred size is adequate allowing it to work nonstop without jamming frequently compared to all the previous shredders I have owned. Noise level is adequate. The bin is decent size. However, a bigger bin would be nice to minimize frequent dumping of the shredded paper. If you happen to work for the FBI or KGB, this shredder will not work for you in terms of paper mince size security but for the 98% of the individuals out there, this shredder will serve its purpose.

The Amazon Basics shredder is simple to set up and use for my home office. I will say my shredding needs are fairly low, but I had a ton of paper accumulated over the years that I wanted to get rid of. It went right through all of them with relative ease. It's very compact and doesn't take up a lot of space. Now I will say, it's a bit noisy, but at the end of the day it's a shredder. I would be shocked to find one that was relatively quiet. Either way, it was very easy to shred through all my papers, junk mail, and even some credit cards. It shredded it with no issue and the shredded paper itself wasn't discernible or easy to parse through. It also stored a ton of paper, despite it being so compact. I only had to clear it out once. So far so good, I'll update this review if I run into any issues but as of right now--This works for me!

I've been very happy with this shredder. It's compact enough for my home office but powerful enough to handle paper and credit cards without any issues. The cross-cut shredding gives me confidence that sensitive information is being completely destroyed. It is a little louder than I expected, but honestly, as long as it shreds everything thoroughly, I don't mind the noise. It's easy to use, reliable, and a great value for the price. Definitely a worthwhile purchase!

This has been a good little shredder for my home office. I like the size—it doesn’t take up a lot of space, and the shape makes it easy to find a spot for it. It was simple to put together and has worked well for the papers I’ve shredded so far. I also like that it cross-cuts rather than just making long strips, which gives a little more security. I don’t regularly shred highly sensitive documents, but I still prefer the extra protection. I was a little worried about the quality because of how affordable this shredder was, but just like the other Amazon Basics products I have purchased, it has not let me down. It works great for normal paper and can even shred a credit card offer while it is still inside the envelope. It does struggle a little when doing that, but if you remove the card and shred it separately from the envelope, it works flawlessly. I have owned it for about six months and have already filled and emptied the bin around 15 times, which is a lot of paper for normal home use. So far, it has not jammed or failed me. For the price, this has been an excellent purchase. It is simple, reliable, and does exactly what I need it to do.

Love my new Amazon Basics 8 sheet Cross Cut Paper Shredder!! So impressed, compact size allows for storage almost anywhere conveniently. Quality is great, sturdy, exterior & quality interior. I needed to buy a new shredder after burning out the motor on the last one we had (yes, it was old, I had a big bag of papers to get rid of, and should've known better!). The Amazon's Choice icon for this one caught my eye, and the discounted price and good reviews had me dropping it in my cart right away. This economical shredder is super for quickly shredding old credit cards and expired insurance or membership cards that might have personal info embedded in them, even though it handles only one at a time. It's noisy, but efficient, and has overload and overheat lights to warn when the 3 minutes of shred time is up. My main problem is probably more operator error than not--I tried to shred 4 pages of 8" x 11" papers, but they kept getting pulled over to one side, which then partially jammed the shredder blades. I still had the same problem if I didn't hold onto the very top of the papers with a couple of fingers to be sure they didn't scrunch up, and since it shreds faster with fewer pages, I usually just do 2 pages at a time. The shredder part is impressively sturdy, and fits well on top of the basket; the handle is a nice feature for picking it up to move the whole unit. I definitely recommend this handy shredder for not just the security, but also the quality.

Picked this shredder because it was amongst the cheapest for a 12+ sheet shredder at my time of purchase and had a dedicated CD/Card shredder slot which was important to me to ensure they don't create unevenness in the main shredder teeth. Have used it for a while now and no complaints though there are a few nice to haves in a future model. There is pretty much no garbage bag that will fit in the tray unless its extremely large. Also would have been nice to have some shredder oil come with it. Have tried to avoid sticky stuff but it will shred bristol board, envelopes, padded envelopes, amazon paper packaging, single ply cardboard. Haven't had any signs of it slowing down yet. need to hold the forward and backward buttons to activate manual mode with a slight delay. Only real con is the 30 minute run time, would have been nice to have one hour.

After reading the reviews, I was carefully optimistic about this purchase. We have a small business and we had a lot of historical paperwork to shred. I wanted an automatic document feed shredder and this one fit the bill. In the 5 days since receiving the Amazon shredder, I have shredded stacks of paper. The automatic document feed works great. I put in stapled and unstapled pages, (I followed the directions and only placed the staples towards the front of the shredder) and so far no paper jams. The bin is a good size, I line it with a clear plastic bag to make bin changes easier/tidier. I can put in a stack of paper and leave the room, the shredder does the job while I'm gone.

I am quite happy with this Amazon Basics 24-Sheet Cross-Cut Paper shredder. The first one I got came broken inside by the motor a spring came out of a plastic piece holing the spring in. I emailed Amazon and they shipped me out a new one with in one day and I got the new replacement a few days later. They did not even wait for me to return the broken shredder and I appreciate that very much. The new replacement shredder they sent me is a very good paper shredder. It is very powerful cuts through 24 sheets of paper like nothing, not even hesitating like some of the others I have had in the past. It is heavy and seems to be well built. The plastic parts are strong and thick and the cutting blades are big and steel and look strong. The motor seems to be a heavy-duty motor as when it starts and shuts down you can hear the power in it. I have shredded quite a few things with it and it does not bog down. I really like the manual switches as I preferer those to the digital buttons like I had on my last shredder; I think the manual switches will last longer. the bin is a little difficult putting it back into the machine as it has to go in perfectly or it won’t go in at all but I am sure I will get used to that and as time goes by, I am sure it will get easier to put back in. Another wonderful thing about this Amazon Basics 24-Sheet Cross-Cut Paper shredder is the price; I got it on a very good sale almost half-price, none of the other brands go on for such a good sale price. I would highly recommend this Amazon Basics 24-Sheet Cross-Cut Paper shredder for small to large businesses and for home use as it seems to be of high quality and should last a long time. I am a big fan of Amazon Basics stuff as they all seem to be very good quality and the prices are very good also. Just a side note some people have said that it is not new as there is some shredded paper left at the bottom, but they all do all of my previous shredders that were brand new had shreds of paper at the bottom when I first opened them, they test them at the factory to make sure all is running properly, and that is why you will see some paper shreds at the bottom of the bin.
