MatalaGravel Vacuum Suction Head

Does exactly what it says it does. Very satisfied with purchase. Worked perfectly no issues.

This head works great in gravel to remove sediment and detritus and leaves provided the leaves are very flexible, like those that are mostly decomposed. It does not work on leaves that are rigid as they will clog the head. If you remove 2 or more of the plugs, it will work on large grain sand. If plugs are installed it will pull sand - which is good if you want it removed, bad if it's a sand (beach) bottom. The Pond o Vac gravel head works better for sand if you don't want it picked up.

I have a Pondovac and none of the attachments are useful because they all suck up some of our pond gravel, creating clogs and making the process of cleaning our pond harder than it already is. This attachment is exactly what I hoped for - great suction, pulls up the dirt and debris, leaves the gravel and rocks where they should be (in the pond)! The rubber fitting fits great on the Pondovac vacuum hose. This is has made my pond care life easier! Super happy with this purchase!

Attached this to the end of my pondvac, then experimented with vacuuming the gravel on the bottom of my 9000 gallon Koi pond. It did an excellent job of sucking up detritus without disturbing the Gravel or the bacteria bed. Because of the size of the pond it took me a better part of the weekend, but with my under gravel filtration system, I won’t have to do this again for another 4 to 6 months at least! Good investment!

I was skeptical when I opened the box and saw I t for the first time. But I tried it today with my new pond vacuum and it works great. It did not suck up any gravel that I could see. I recommend this attachment for gravel bottom ponds.

Did not clean gravel as shown. Sent back for refund.

Weak, doesn’t work with 1” rocks. Too flexible.

I used this with an oase pond vac to clean the gravel entry to the pond. Works well - you need the water to be above the gravel is all. The attachment to the vacuum hose was big for the oase attachments, but I was able to trim it to a bigger part of the rigid hose so the rubber attachment and clamp worked.
