This yarn is really very lovely. It's a thicker style than others I've tried and, as a beginner to crochet, this makes it ideal to work with - although you're likely to love it just as much as an expert also.The yarn is super soft but at the same time it's much more stable than some of the thinner versions I've used. I particularly like that it doesn't split as you work, meaning you're able to more clearly see your stitches and work out where you are in a pattern. This has been invaluable at helping me improve my crochet skills as with some yarns I'm never really sure where to insert my hook when the stitches are close together. No problem at all with this style and it gives a much neater finish to your crocheting also, which is fantastic.I love the grey coloured set in particular and I'm busy looking up patterns for things I'd like to make with this pack. Very handily, it comes complete with a book of 10 patterns (a bit hard to follow for me at the moment but I'll get there soon), a set of stitch markers and a 3.5mm crochet hook. Absolutely perfect for getting started on things and there's also a link to some basic crochet skills via a QR code in the instructions.I also ordered a mixed coloured pack (black, white, pink) and I chose this one especially for the cat pattern it comes with as I have two boys who love cats and would be over the moon to find a little crocheted creature in their Christmas stockings this year. Like the grey set, you get 3x 50g balls of yarn, another set of stitch markers and a crochet hook, plus the pattern instructions for the cat. This set has a QR code link included specifically for the cat crochet tutorial and this is fantastic for me as I'm much more of a visual learner than a pattern follower at this stage in my crochet skill development.Whichever coloured set you go for, it will be a lovely purchase for yourself or to gift to a lover of crochet. I'll be sure to be back for some more of this CrochetBox yarn myself when I next need a top up as I'm incredibly impressed with it so far and it's good value for the quality at the same time. Overall this is a good crochet kit for beginners but it is a bit disappointing in that it is quite limited in terms of what you can actually make and do with it. The yarn comes in the same colour (in this case grey) and you also get a crochet hook, stitch holders and instructions. I expected this kit to come in a box with a few more additions to it however there are no other accessories that come with it. Therefore, if you do want to make one of the cute amigurumi patterns detailed in the instructions booklet, then you need to purchase additional coloured yarn and accessories. As it stands, you can't really do much with only the grey yarn. The instructions booklet is quite good and helps you to start crocheting and there is also a QR code that links to some basic instructions. The quality of the yarn is very good. It is super soft! The crochet hook is also ergonomic with its silicon top and easy to use.

This yarn is interesting as it's quite thick and tube-like, which makes it great for beginners in crocheting. It's super soft, but not fluffy (a good thing).It comes with a little booklet containing many patterns for you to follow, plus a crochet hook and 5 markers.I got the coral colour, was very happy with the colour and the quality.

This is a nice set, however i think it could be a bit better. Im a seasoned crocheter so thought i could review this well and im not going to pass up free yarn of course. The yarn isnt like regular yarn, almost like a thin tshirt yarn which is cool, you dont see that very often and it is quality. The hook is quite small for a beginner, a 3mm is good for amigurumi but a beginner might struggle, especially with that style of yarn, so id have suggested a bigger hook, a 4mm or even a 5mm. The booklet it comes with has a lot of choice on what to make, however theres nothing that doesnt require multiple colours and the set only comes with one colour. So really you cant use the booklet with the set. With that in mind, though, the set is of quality material wise but i think the composition could have been better. Regardless, i personally used my own pattern with the yarn and it made lovely strong coasters, so the yarn itself is probably worth it as its interesting to work with.

Contains yarn, stitch holders, a crochet hook, & instructions. You will need to buy stuffing & safety eyes to make the little amigurimi character, but those aren't expensive. The yarn is very interesting, it's not like standard wool, it's more like arm knitting wool on a smaller scale. It's a fine tube of material, which makes it easier to work with for beginners than standard knitting/crochet yarn. This kit or the little character you can make would both be great gifts. The instructions have a qr code for basic crochet instructions. The crochet hook has a nice silicon grip, which is very helpful for kids or others with lesser manual dexterity.

I'm used to working with various types of wool from Aran to Alpaca, but this blend of 70% cotton and 30% nylon is a bit different - the texture is very soft which I like and it's a little thicker than the size of wool I'm used to. The fibres have been woven together so that it makes a very smooth yarn. I use a crochet hook of 5 mm, and this set provides a 3.5 mm hook which is ideal for crocheting Amigurumi projects. The crochet manual is fantastic, with a generous number of patterns from a Rabbit to an Axolotl, octopus to mushroom, etc. Crochet terms are laid out well it clearly shows how to read a crochet pattern which even though I'm not a beginner it's nice to be reminded. The only slightly annoying thing is that all of the patterns include several colours of yarn, and all the kit comes with is a single colour (3 x 50g balls). It's very reasonably priced though for this type of yarn and excellent quality.
