Super LED Lights
As a general contractor, I purchase lighting on a very regular basis. I have purchased slim LED's from Torchstar for years and have been very pleased with their products. These lights are well built with metal trim rings and are easy to install. Their design allows me to place lights virtually anywhere the client needs them. Even where a joist or structural member may be in the way of can-style lights, as long as you have room to slip the junction box into the joist space you are good to go. The lighting color is always spot on and the LED's are very energy efficient.

Love these lights! Installed them all over my house
When my son left to go to college, I took over his bedroom to make it a music room (I play guitar). I installed the 4" Warm White Torchstar lights as recessed lights and put them on a new dimmer and I fell in love. The lighting as excellent. I loved them so much, I installed them in the master bedroom, den, and the 6" version in my kitchen and living room. They are easy to install; you can even install them under a ceiling stud! They are very energy efficient. For example, I replaced 5 incandescent 60 watt light bulbs (300 watt total) in my ceiling fan with ten 4" Torchstar recessed lights (10 watts each), so the total is only 100 watts.Lastly, and most importantly, I love the lighting. It makes me feel like I'm in a new house. We have cathedral ceilings in some of the rooms and the lighting spreads out evenly so you can see so much more than with ceiling fan lights or traditional canned spot lights.Give these lights a try. If you are nervous, try installing them in a closet or garage first. Once you learn how great this product is, you will want them everywhere in your home. One more thing, if you are planning on connecting them to a dimmer, that's not a problem but make sure the dimmer is compatible with the lights. Torchstar provides a list of compatible dimmers, so you will be fine. Just in case you're curious, when I first installed the lights in my living room, I connected them to my old 10-year-old dimmer and it was bad; the lights flickered and the dimming range was tiny, Once I installed a compatible dimmer it worked great. I used the Lutron Maestro C.L Dimmer switch, It is a little expensive, but it works great!!

Great Price on these low profile LEDs Perfect replacement the old cans!!
Received the items in tip top shape. The packing in the box is great, well packed. Figuring out where to place them was so easy, no stress in having to find space away from joists and obstructions. Removed my existing fixture in the kitchen along with two older style recessed light cans. Drilled the holes for the new LEDs and ran wiring from hole to hole. They do not provide wire protectors. You have to buy them separately. These are plastic inserts you put in the box where the wiring comes in to protect the wiring from the sharp edges. I believe it is in most all electrical codes to have these.Started the install with wiring into all the junction boxes and then connecting the LED housing to them with a quick turn connector. Easy to pop them into the ceiling with the spring clips. After wiring them on the same circuit it was time to power them on and to test them, holy cow they are bright. I bought the 5000K version as I HATE yellow light. And boy these did not disappoint. So much so that these pretty much require a dimmer, haha. We used the Lutron DVWCL-153PH-WH as it was placed into a 3 way circuit. The dimmer slider allows full brightness to off. So far I love them and will update if I have any problems down the road. (My wife said its like being on the sun with them on full!)

Great customer service
Moved into a fixer upper and we’re looking to add a lot of budget friendly lighting. Quality was questionable when one of the lights started flickering a little over a year after install. Contacted TORCHSTAR customer service and they immediately sent me out a new one after sending a video of the flickering. Replacement works perfect, would definitely purchase again!

Bright LEDs: 4000k is more like 5000k
I installed these to replace 4 fluorescent fixtures with two bulbs each in the kitchen. They are bright even though I used only 4 LEDs and enough to replace the brightness of the fluorescents. It gets 4 stars because the online picture in the description of the 4000k appears a little warm which I was looking for than the actual product which delivered cool white. In other words, the 4000k is more like 4500k. I returned the 4000k and bought the 3000k as replacement, same brand, and found that it was the color temperature I was looking for although a bit more on the warm side. The 3000k picture shown in the item description online is yellower than actual. Someone here said the actual is more like 2500K, but I disagree. The 3000k rating is quite accurate. It gives the kitchen a more luxurious feel than the 4000k for sure. Product design is solid and the slim profile makes the installation a breeze.

Very bright
Bright bright bright, fantastic fantastic that's the words out of my wife's mouth, when she first saw them installed. One word of caution even though the pigtail to connect it to the box is already stripped, strip it a little bit longer. I thought it wasn't working and thought it was defective! So I replaced it with a new junction box. Had the same problem, then it dawned on me! Too try a new approach. The newly stripped wire worked perfectly. As others have said make sure use a dimmer , got mine from "Costco " works perfect, picked up 2each for $14.00 bucks. Somebody said that the size of the hole was too small, to accommodate the springs all you have to do is use your knife and cut small notch and either side where the springs are located, this extra little extra space will allow you to tap the light in with your hand for a tight seal. If you're going to install remember you going to need some type of connector for the box either Romex or BX, just make sure you pick them up before you start. I daisy chain all of mine, for a very simple installation. couldn't be happier. If the company is reading his page, it would be nice if you came out with a dimmer switch to sell alongside of your product. I like this product so much I purchase a second time. Considering a third time for outside the house.
