X-10 Pro Security/Home Automation Remote Control - Model PHR03

This battery-powered transmitter requires the purchase of the receiving unit in order to function. X-10 used to make an AC powered controller but no longer does, you have to use this battery powered one. It requires 4 AA batteries. Because it isn't plugged in, it can't transmit its signals directly over AC wiring, you have to use the above mentioned receiving unit. You only need one receiver unit, it will then relay the commands to all the other regular units via the AC wiring. X-10 units in general work very well. The technology was first introduced in the 1970s!

This is a great replacement for your quiet cool whole house fan replacement for remote. You plug the quiet cool into the receiver and this sends tje signal to turn it on. Great functionality and good range. Worth the price.

Easy to use and exactly as described. Bought it to replace an old one that stopped working and works as expected.

I have an attic light with a switch in upstairs room near access point to attic. I wanted a yardlight and bought a LED flood light and wired it to the attic light. Then bought a light switch that is controllable via the Remote control and put next to outside door. Need yardlight? just push the correct button! the controller has way more "buttons" for device control than I think most people/house would ever need.

Been using X-10 Products ever since they first came out decades ago. I have used the AC versions of this controller for years and they held up really well. So far, I can only get about one year of consistent service out of the newer battery versions. The on/off buttons wear our out quickly/eventually after repeated use. It seems, the quality is not what it used to be. But still a great product.

Doesn’t work without a receiver. Should not be sold separately. As it stands it’s an expensive useless piece of plastic

I've had it a year and already one button doesn't connect anymore. Just like all the other ones I've had over the years. Too bad I have an entire system in my house which needs these things to work.

Excellent produit et service

My old one finally gave up. I ordered another one, followed the instructions and in no time it was up and running thankfully. My only negative thought was the price, the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Living in Canada, price a little too steep, I had no choice but go through Amazon which was cheaper than going through the X10 store. X10 has been very good to me since the 1970’s.
