Actually pretty great
So I have the lovely c-section belly, and it’s gotten looser with age and a total of nine surgeries on my abdomen. I HATE how my stomach hangs like the old ‘do your ears hang low’ song. It wobbles too and fro, and I think I could manage to throw it over my shoulder. Now that that song is stuck in your head, here’s my review on this tummy slimmer:ProsIt WORKS! I even got asked if I’ve lost weight! It stays up, even with toting a baby on my hipThe hard pieces don’t cut into meI live in the humid south, and it didn’t make me sweat or chafe uncomfortablyIt didn’t roll downIt fit beautifully under clothes and stayed camouflagedNot hard to get on and offNo elastic band! Those give me an awful rashDoesn’t smotherConsSo far, I have only one: that I can’t afford two of them right now.I was a size 4 before I started the struggle of trying to have children. I carried babies with genetic disorders, and it basically mutilated my body. Nothing fits right any more. I hate my belly, but it gave life to three amazing children, so if I MUST have it, I might as well smooth it out. This tummy slimmer is exactly what I was hoping for! I went with the more expensive brand first (Spanx), and the elastic band caused excess sweating, chafing, and the plastic ribbing in it literally cut a bloody slice into my stomach. Not cool. I was half expecting the same with this one, but I took it for a drive on the hottest day of the summer thus far and was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly impressed. I definitely recommend it!For reference, I’m 5’4” and 180 pounds and also in postpartum. The XL held me in without hurting my still tender tummy. I wear a size 14 clothing, and I think the XL would fit even if I (heaven forbid!) gained another 10 pounds and went to a size 16. But for the record, ladies, our post-baby selves are beautiful for the life they brought into the world. Our bodies aren’t perfect any more, but they’re beautiful just the same.

Great fit but legs roll up
It fits great and doesn't roll down, but the legs roll up.

Only displaces the rolls
My body has grown four babies in seven years. I remain athletic and still somewhat petite at 5’ 3” and 140lbs, dress size 8. I was asked to be in a wedding that happened six months after my fourth baby was born. I was feeling self-conscious of my postpartum lumpiness in the dress style the bride chose so I bought this shaper in a size S/M. It fit as I expected and did an okay job of smoothing out my midsection but the lumpiness was simply displaced to my thighs where the bottom hem of the “shorts” of this shaper hit, and up at the top band of the shaper just under the breasts and around the back of the ribcage. I have very fit, muscular thighs and this still gave a bit of a snowman look to my legs when I wasn’t standing with muscles flexed (i.e., sitting). Thankfully this was hidden by the flowy dress skirt, but these thigh lumps would show up on anything tighter. The biting up around my ribcage was noticeable under my dress. It looked like I was wearing a way-too-tight bra. I had to choose whether I wanted some lumpiness around my hips/pelvis (not wear it) or some lumpiness around my back (wear it). I chose to wear it under the gown and have the biting up my back with the reasoning that my front and sides would be more visible than my back. In the end this was okay except that the synthetic material of my dress created TONS of static with the synthetic material of the shaper so I spent the whole evening tugging at my dress to straighten it out against the static. By the end of the night my dress was a bound-up, clinging, wrinkly mess. I’m guessing this shaper would have been great with a dress of a different material and a dress that wasn’t as form-fitting, but let’s face it: we’re all buying this because we are going to be wearing something form-fitting so that’s a moot argument. While this didn’t really work well for me and probably wasn’t worth wearing, I did give it three stars because it was not uncomfortable.

Smooths so you can groove!
The short review:It’s $20.00 and you’ll look and feel so lovely! Don’t overthink it, just buy it!The long descriptive review:This is my first time buying shapewear so I had a lot of thoughts.First of all, to the women who claim wearing shapewear means you’re “lying to people about your looks,” give me a BREAK. These same ladies wear push-up bras, eyeliner, fake lashes, fake nails, colored contact lenses, hair extensions, pluck their eyebrows, shave their legs, or dye their hair. We are women and we like using cosmetics to look nice. Shapewear is a cosmetic thing. There are certain outfits I have that look off on certain areas of my body and this is the cosmetic solution to fix it. (As you get older, it’ll happen to you too.)As you can see in the photos I’m not lying about anything! I am a thicc, shapely woman, but it’s nice to be able to smooth some of those shapes out so certain outfits look really nice! In this photo I’m wearing high-rise stretchy jeans and a t-shirt. My shapes might look even nicer if I wore a push-up bra! I’m not trying to look slimmer. My goal is to look smoother, and it worked!I also chose this particular shapewear because it does not have the number one shapewear complaint of rolling down one’s body. It stays up really well! I’ve been sitting and standing and working in mine all day to give it a real test drive and I’m sold! It’s also comfy. I can still breathe normally! I don’t feel restricted in any way. No hurt back either.
