Amazing value for the price!
The PDP-2-1H1B wireless microphone system is amazing for the price. For $80, you get a handheld microphone, a bodypack transmitter, a receiver, a lavalier microphone AND a headset to use with the bodypack, 2 AA batteries, 2 audio adapters, windscreens for all 3 microphones, and a usb c cable that can charge the receiver and bodypack at the same time. If I had no experience with Phenyx Pro, my first reaction would be that the products must be junk in order for them to be so inexpensive. However, that is definitely not the case. The build quality feels good and sound quality is good as well. My church was able to use this product at a youth camp recently, and it performed very well! This product operates in the 900MHz range. This is great because you don't have to worry about interference from wifi or other 2.4GHz wireless devices. It's possible you could still get interference in the 900MHz range, but there aren't as many devices out there that are operating in that range. The handheld receiver has 15 frequencies (channels 1-15) and the Bodypack has 15 separate frequencies (channels 16-30). Changing channels is super simple. On the bodypack, all you have to do is press the channel button. The receiver automatically switches to the new channel! For the handheld microphone, you have to unscrew the battery compartment to access the channel button. But, again, all you have to do is push the channel button to change the channel and the receiver automatically follows. I like that you can charge the bodypack and the receiver at the same time with the included double USB-C cable. It was a little hard for me to get rechargeable AA batteries out of the handheld transmitter, but maybe it will get a little easier over time. The fact that there is only one receiver for two microphones is awesome! At the youth camp, we used a battery-powered speaker that only has two inputs. With the PDP-2-1H1B we were able to use the lavalier mic, the handheld, and a plug a guitar into the speaker and use all 3 at the same time! One downside to this configuration is that you have no way to change the volume on the bodypack and the handheld microphones individually. Phenyx Pro did a pretty good job at balancing the level all of the microphones. However, to get the handheld microphone as loud as the bodypack, I noticed you do have to hold it quite close to your mouth. Which again, it's better if you don't have to hold it right against your mouth. Build quality: The handheld microphone feels like it's metal; it even sounds like metal when I hit my wedding ring against it. It's very light, but still feels solid. I found the mute/power button was kind of hard to push, but not a deal-breaker by any means. The bodypack feels very solid as well, and the buttons are very easy to press. The receiver is plastic, but the build quality is still very good for the price. Sound quality: The overall sound quality is great. I love that the system is digital, because in general, digital is going to sound better than analog (especially cheap analog systems). The handheld microphone has good sound quality, I find it sounds the most natural if you hold it around 4 inches away from your mouth. If you hold it much closer than that, it gets really bassy and has more plosives and sibiliance (although the windscreen can help with those problems some). You could also reduce low frequencies if you have that capability with a mixer or a powered speaker. I was also pleasantly surprised at the sound quality of the bodypack with the lavalier and headset microphones. I did find that cutting a few db around 1KHz helped the bodypack sound a little more natural. However, it is more than usable "as-is" for small events, etc. Noise floor: I hooked the PDP receiver up to an audio interface and listened to it on my computer. I found that the system does introduce a higher noise floor versus using a standard wired microphone. It didn't matter whether I used the bodypack, the handheld microphone, or both, the noise floor was the same. Because of this, I would probably not use it for any podcast or music recordings. It's not a bad noise, just standard noise floor sound. And, it's virtually unnoticeable in a live setting. Noise handling: I would say the handheld microphone is fairly average when it comes to noise handling. I noticed when I would tap my wedding ring against the body of the microphone, it would produce a loud sound through the system. Other than that, it's not too bad. It also does make a fairly loud audible noise that can be heard through the receiver when the mute/power button is pressed. I don't think this would be a major problem unless you needed absolute silence for some reason (ie a funeral or something). I was very surprised with how little handling noise the lavalier and headset mics have. You can tap around the bodypack, up by the microphone, and even on the headset with little noise. There's very little noise unless you tap right on the lavalier/headset mics, which is to be expected. Range: Unfortunately, I didn't think to test the range when we used it for the youth camp. Both the handheld microphone and the bodypack worked fine when I went upstairs in my house though. I also have the handheld PDP-1 handheld microphone, and when I tested it, it cut out when I went very far outside of my house. Just to be safe, I would recommend staying within 30 feet or so of the receiver with any these kind of portable systems. You definitely want to have no obstructions between the microphones and the receiver if you are going to try to use any kind of system like this very far away. Battery life: So far, I have had the bodypack and the receiver on and connected for more than 4 hours. I'll provide an update on this later.

Very impressed, especially with the headset.
I have been curious about these types of wireless systems, but wasn't sure how good the quality would be in this price range and with this dongle type of reciever. First of all, I love the way this system was boxed. It was packaged very well with a type of foam insert and a cutout to fit each piece perfectly. In fact, I plan to either buy or build a case for this system and put this foam insert in it. Everything feels like good quality. The handheld mic does feel a bit light, which is nice because you don't want to carry anything too heavy around during a whole 2 - 4 hour show, but I also wouldn't mind just a little more weight to this one component. I first fully charged the reciever and body pack transmitter before hooking anything up. I like that the system came with the dual charging cable included. It was also nice that the 90 degree adapter and the 1/4" to 1/8" audio adapters were also included. I turned on the reciever and the handheld mic. They paired up very easily and changing channels was a breeze. I then turned on the body pack transmitter and it also paired right up, then I changed the channel and again, it was a breeze. I wasn't sure if changing channels was going to be tricky or not, but the reviever does a great job at automatically detecting the channel change from the transmitters and adjusting itself accordingly. I first tried the handheld mic just speaking into it and was instantly impressed with the sound quality as I adjusted the sound on my mixing console. Then I gave it the real test singing a few songs with power vocals. This thing took it and produced a very clean, dynamic sound without getting overpowered or distorted. It provides a very crisp, clean sound. Great highs and mids. It also provides great low end without sounding muddy. I then decided to try the body pack transmitter, first with the headset mic. I was really blown away at how great this headset sounds. Speech or singing with power vocals, it sounded just as great as the handheld mic. The only difference is that with the headset I had to boost the low EQ just a bit more, but I was very impressed. Again, very clean and crisp sound. The clip on mic also worked wonderfully, basically the same as the headset. The headset with this system sounds as good or better than some I used to use that used to cost over $500 (and weren't even wireless), then had to be ran through a dedicated 31 band EQ. This headset sounds incredible plugged straight into the board. The wireless signal was super clean and there was absolutely zero interference or crosstalk when using both transmitters simultaneously. Of course the only drawback is not being able to control volume and EQ of both mics separately with this reciever, but the handheld and headset are so closely matched that it's not much of an issue and, for me, I will rarely use both at the same time anyway. The only thing I would like to see with this system is a little better background noise separation/rejection in the handheld mic element, but it is still a very great quality microphone as is the headset and this entire system overall is just very impressive to me, especially at this price point. I play music and sing in bands, run sound as well as run my own mobile DJ/karaoke and videography/video production services, so I have used many mics and wireless systems over the years and I am happy to add this system to my audio aresenal. if you're on a tight budget, this is system is a great choice. If you're not on a tight budget, you should still give this one serious consideration. I may not choose this over top of the line systems, but I definitely would put it up against many more expensive systems I have had and used. I'd definitely buy it again.

Phenyx Pro PDP-2-1H1B, a really good wireless unit that could be great!
This is a review for the Phenyx Pro PDP-2-1H1B wireless microphone system. I will start with this, I use a wireless microphone 5-6 days a week as a presenter and emcee. I also work as a musician both live and in the studio. My review is going to focus on live use. I have been using the PDP-1 handheld wireless every day for nearly a year. With proper gain control and EQ, this wireless sounds great and has not failed once…that’s over 200 setups, uses, and tear downs in a year. The battery is still strong, and the unit just keeps working! This PDP-2-1H1B is the same…the handheld is rock solid. The Wireless headset works well. The transmitter to receiver connection is solid and has good distance of travel. The weakness with the headset is the mic itself. It has a hollow sound and just doesn’t sound good. There is a noticeable ‘hollow’ sound in the mid-range. Aggressive cuts between 500Hz and 1000KHz help. HOWEVER, I have a headset mic from an old AKG wireless, and it has the same three pin connector. I plugged the AKG in and this wireless sounds GREAT! The transmitter is rechargeable, so ZERO batteries are needed. Swap out that headset and you have a great live hands-free solution! The lavalier mic is again, weak…sorry to say. No matter where I place the mic it just isn’t going to sound good enough to use in a live setting. Even when I plugged it in to my DAW to record, it just sounds cheap. Feedback is an issue, and I just couldn’t find an EQ setting that was useable. Mind you, it is NOT the transmitter, it is the mic. The transmitter is great and sounds amazing with a good microphone. In summary, this unit is priced so well that you can’t expect miracles. This unit is worth way above the price. The handheld has been my go-to and I’ll use it every day! Plug in the right the mics, and the transmitter is equally as good. I use Phenyx Pro gear daily. Always reliable able to take all that I throw at it. Indoors or outdoors, hour after hour it just works.

Quality Budget Friendly Wireless Mic System
I was given the opportunity to test and review the PDP-2-1H1B, if you’re in the need for a handheld and headset mic for a speaking engagement or even a live musical performance, then this is a simple solution that simply works. I direct a 20-piece big-band jazz band. I used the handheld mic for an hour and the headset/bodypack for the second hour of a 2-hour rehearsal. Both mics performed flawlessly and worked right out of the box. What’s In the Box: The PDP-2-1H1B comes with everything you need to simply plug-in and go. The system comes in a nice, organized box with foam inserts to keep everything in place. You can use the box as a case if needed. The system comes with: 1 handheld mic (Transmitter) made out of metal, and feels very nice in your hand. 1 Bodypack (Transmitter) that supports the included headset mic and lapel mic 1 1/4-inch Receiver that plugs into a line port on your mixer or powered speaker. 1 ¼ inch L shaped adaptor 1 1/8 adapter 1 Wind Guard 2 AA Batteries Quality of Product: Typically for this price level, you’d expect to see a low-quality product made of plastic. That is not the case with the PDP-2. The Handheld Mic, bodypack and Receiver are made out of metal. They have some weight to them and the mic feels great to hold. As with all Phenyx products I’ve tried, the antennas on the Receiver and Bodypack are quite thin and seem like if something was going to break, it would be that. Testing the Product: As mentioned I lead a 20-piece big band, it’s quite a large group to rehearse. I used the handheld mic to speak to the band between songs and give instructions. The band seemed to hear me quite well. I also had our vocalist use the handheld mic for two songs and the mic worked fine. The tone quality was acceptable. For the 2nd half of rehearsal, I tried the bodypack and headset. Again, no issue, the bodypack worked as expecte. Overall Experience: Overall I’m very impressed with the quality of the product. I think Phenyx did a nice job in the build of the handheld mic, bodypack and the ¼ inch receiver. The system worked flawlessly during rehearsal. It’s a nice solution for anyone looking for a minimal simplistic setup that just works.

Some interference and low quality
I like the design and the flexilibility to use two microphones. However, one nob came off. And the quality of the unit is lacking. There is also some interference that makes the audio quallity not great.

IMPRESSIVE and versatile
I recently received this mic and finally got to do a thorough test... Shipping: INSANELY Fast. I received my order in about 30 hours of placing it. Which is usually unheard of. Packaging: The box is neat, feels nice and sturdy. Graphics are nice as well. Everything is in a foam cutout inside so it's kept safe in transit - and makes it easy to see all the accessories/pieces to the system. Handheld Mic: I've had experience with the PDP-1, and this is essentially identical to that. Connecting to the transmitter is a breeze. Battery life is amazing. I had a 4.5 hour gig that I used this for and it did not drop signal once, the battery used maybe one bar and that didn't happen until the last 30 minutes. It's a very hot mic - so tons of wiggle room when running through a board. Sound quality was crisp. There is some handling noise from the microphone. But when playing with a band and other sound is happening - you don't notice. Now if you're using this as a public speaking mic, you might hear it depending on how aggressive the speaker is with handling the mic. I also tested this with being hooked up to a harbinger speaker in the basement and went upstairs to the farthest points east and west in the house. I even went out into the garage with no drops or interference. 🤘🏼 Headset: We have been looking for a solution for our drummer to be able to contribute on vocals without having more clutter of a mic stand behind his kit. I've been shopping around for a wireless headset for him to keep things neater - but wasn't sure what we should pull the trigger on. I am please to say that this is an amazing and cost effective solution. Lavalier: I tested this running through a PA and through a Canon 5dMkIV. Sound quality is crisp. It does pick up a LOT of background noise such as if you're moving a lot and it's rubbing on clothing or if you bump it. It was a hotter mic than the headset and handheld. Overall - I'm wildly impressed with this microphone system. I would absolutely recommend this anyone interested in finding a versatile wireless microphone option. This set allows me to use it in a band setting, or for while I'm shooting video and interviews. Comes with a 12 month manufacturer warranty and lifetime supportive customer service. Of which, Phenyx pro is VERY responsive - something that is a huge perk as well. 10/10 recommend!

Perfect for Small Churches & Family Gatherings!
As a small church worship leader, I often visit churches that don’t have wireless microphones, and the Phenyx Pro PDP-2-1H1B has been an absolute lifesaver! It’s incredibly easy to set up—just plug it into the existing sound system, and you’re good to go. The wireless range is solid, and I’ve experienced clear, interference-free audio every time. Not only is this perfect for churches that lack wireless mic setups, but it’s also great for small family gatherings, weddings, and events where you need a reliable microphone for speeches or singing. The handheld and bodypack options provide flexibility depending on what you need, and the build quality feels durable. If you’re a worship leader, musician, or speaker looking for a portable, budget-friendly wireless mic system, this is a fantastic choice! Highly recommend for anyone in similar situations.

Superb sound quality
Did a quick test, so far sound quality is good, though i still about to see how it long the battery last and if it can sustain the sound quality over a period of time

Quality versatile radio microphones that actually work well!
Really good quality audio and has a large reception range (think school playing field). Only niggle is that the two radio mics are on a single audio chanel and not one left / other right. Good battery life and receiver can be charged while in use with any interfere or hum. Good dynamic range. Would buy again.
