I am amazed how fast this worked!
This Pet-a-Lyte works great! My pup was on a medication for UTI. After being on the medication for over a week, it started making her throw up. My vet did not believe it was the medication that was upsetting her stomach. Even though I did read that that particular UTI med can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea plus I have 2 other dogs who's on her same routine except for the UTI med and they were not sick at all. I took her off the medication and she continued to throw up 4 more days. After that many days of vomiting and being a mom, you think she needs some electrolytes. I read the reviews and gave this product a try and after 1 full day of giving her the pet-a-lyte as directed, she stopped throwing up! It has been 4 days today of her not vomiting. I couldn't find how long she could be on this product at a time but we wanted to keep giving her the pet-a-lyte for at least a week to be sure. I am very satisfied and amazed with this product and highly recommend it to anyone with a sick pup.

Excellent. Worked for my sick 17 year old cat.
Excellent product. My bottle came with light yellow, clear liquid. Kinda smelled like funky citrus, but ok. 5 stars because it actually worked on my cat. 17 year old cat was lethargic and not eating. Nothing wrong on her tests but I was worried. After one full dose, 24 hours later, she came back to life and very hungry again. I bought 5 ml syringes, as she does not like taking any medicine in her food or water. I give her 1 ml of liquid three times a day = 3ml total. Don’t follow bottle’s instructions for a cat. It’s meant for dog size. It’s a big bottle and expires even in fridge after 30 days, so I followed another reviewer’s advice, and poured some in small empty water bottles. Then put them in my freezer, so I can defrost what I need in the future if she gets sick again. Highly recommend.

This is only my experience with my dogs, but every dog is different.
Neither of my dogs would go near this product. Yet, I bought a flavorless and much cheaper one at my local grocery store that they love so much it is on the same level as treat status. The quality is not here with this product. Both dogs took a smell and backed off as if it were poison. It was not effective. Just a waste of money. However, each dog is individual and has their own taste preferences. One dog is a 12 year old chocolate lab and the other is a 4.5 year old American Pitbull Terrier, so the age/energy/health had nothing to do with it, but again, this is just my experience. I ended up wasting money. It comes out as this yellow, gross looking almost thick kind of liquid that doesn't seem edible. I'm sorry, but I personally ended up wasting my money. This review is in no way meant to insult the company or its employees who probably work hard to make quality products. Unfortunately, this one fell short and I'm only saying that if you go to the big blue store and find an off brand in a white bottle similar to the white glacier color of another electrolyte drink, you'll find what I consider to be a much easier and better product for the dogs. As far as my research and vet has explained to me. Water is still the best choice, but due to the elder dogs health condition, I'm forced to use some form of this kind of drink to keep him hydrated. Just not this one. And, my rambling is done. Apologies to anyone who took the time to read it because your dog may love it.

Diabetic cat
I ordered this for my Diabetic cat 13yrs as been diabetic for 18months get 3 units insulin twice daily. He went into DKA Diabetic Ketoacidosis I took to my vet next day and they kept doing subcutaneous fluids under skin every day for 3 days, it only helps for 12 hours. Started on Pet A Lyte as soon as I got it, gave 3ml by syringe every 3 hours, also diluted in his water, that night and early am he did not urinate all night long or hold his head for hours in water bowl. Next morning I was able to syringe feed urgent care pate, this has made a big difference in his DKA which usually requires hospital for cat and three to five thousand dollars and he is not nausea's when feeding. So far so good this is day 2. Very easy to use with syringe for cat, cost is much better then paying for fluid injections from vet daily. So far it's working and is effective for what I need. Cat takes with syringe doesn't mind taste. No diarrhea.

You’ll only need 1
I can confirm that this stuff stinks. It’s a weird muddy citrous like concoction. It’s only good for 30 days once opened. I recommend buying one and leaving it unopened in a spare refrigerator, that way you have it ready to go in case of an emergency. My older dog had a health scare, and we bought this to aid her rehydration. Neither of my dogs liked it. We used a pet liquid syringe to coax them into drinking it. I literally had to squirt it into the back of their throats with a syringe and tilt their heads back to get them to swallow. Now I know neither of my dogs will willingly drink it. That said, if either one of my dogs ever gets severely dehydrated, having this stuff on hand with a liquid syringe may be handy to keep them from going into shock. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it, I guess.

Wish i knew if it really works ..but i guess i won't.
I gave 3 stars only because the smell was horrible and my cat vomited it back up but not sure if it was the product or if it is due to other issues health wise. However packed well no leakage and hopefully can donate it to a rescue before the 30 days is up on it since i can't refund it maybe it can help a different pet . Pretty pricey for something i can't use . Needs better instructions on the bottle . I had to google the amount for cats. Otherwise i can't truly say if it works .

Works Very Well!!! Odor is really really bad...but the part that it works is important!!
It is working! Yay! My 15 year old kitty is doing remarkably well after giving him one 3ml syringe every three hours...He has had three so far...9ml all together. He is already doing much better. He gags on it though. It smells rancid and I can tell that it tastes as bad as it smells. It smells like seriously strong sulphur, (strong rotten eggs), vinegar, chlorine and bitter citrus, but it is working very well, so I am very happy. :)

I cant say enough good things about this
When my dog is sick….. Feeling like hes getting sick etc. the last thing he wants to do is eat or drink. Not even water. This liquid is like from heaven for me and my pup. It gives him energy to get through whatever ailment may be the issue at that time (he has serious stomach sensitivity issues). If it wasnt for this, he would be lethargic. This gives him life. Its the only way i can describe it. The electrolytes do their job here. I give him a huge dropper full every half hour or hour for a few hours. This helps him pee also as I said, he wont drink water and even regurgitates water. Since this has a small shelf life once opened , I believe it states 30 days after opening, I do something different. Bought some ice trays with lids. Poured them into said ice trays. Lid on. Froze them. Put them in ziplock bags. When he gets sick, I thaw a cube out in the microwave for ten seconds or less. Not long because it gets hot.if i dont need it right away but feel like its gonna be one of those days, I allow it naturally thaw as I don’t prefer to heat the liquid at all. Depends on my needs. I will always buy this product and recommend it for any pet owner to have on hand at all times. Thank you for a wonderful wonderful wonderful purchase. I like to add that the product I used didnt have a smell and was a very pale yellow in color. Ive seen reviews stating that they had a brown liquid. I hope they didnt change the formula. I will be purchasing another bottle soon and will update.
